Let’s hear what Butler’s co-stars have said about his terrifying performance!
Austin Butler Impressed His Dune 2 Cast Members
Star-studded casts often have someone turn up their performance to a level that is simply undeniable. In the case of Dune Part Two, that person is none other than Austin Butler, who has been a man on fire since getting his crack at big screen roles with major filmmakers.
Butler’s co-stars, notably Timothee Chalamet, have heaped praise on the star for his incredible performance.
“You meet someone by destiny, by the destiny of the script that you know you will have to work with intimately. You go, ‘Okay, so he’s not only a great talent, but a great guy, which is hard to find,” Chalamet said of meeting Butler.
He then went on to talk about Butler’s terrifying performance.
“I mean, it’s easy to now, but it’s exactly what that role needed, and demands in some way,” he added.
In turn, Butler had high praise for Chalamet’s work.
“I respect him so much. He knocked it out of the park. It’s so cool to see the transition from that first film and to see the maturity and the gravitas come out, and you get to just knock the roof off of it. It’s incredible,” the Feyd-Rautha actor said.
Dave Bautista, who plays Rabban, Feyd-Rautha’s brother in the film, talked about the dynamic that he and Butler had on and off screen.
“It’s sibling rivalry at its highest peak. There’s a deep hatred that stems from my resentment and insecurity as older brother. Younger brother has always been better, smarter, more loved and more admired,” Bautista said.
“So we really despise each other. Then Austin and I are talking about lunch. It was effortless,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Stellan Skarsgard, who plays Baron Harkonnen, noted Butler’s fun with the role, and his accent.
“I laughed so much because it was so obvious that he really enjoyed being evil,” he said.
As far as Butler’s accent in the film goes, Skarsgard said, “It’s like hearing an echo. It was very, very precise.”
Not only are Butler’s co-stars talking about his exceptional work, but so are fans.

Fans Are Saying That Butler Is The Highlight Of The Film
One fan on Reddit talked about Butler’s performance being a course-correction of sorts.
“Butler really impressed me. I’m glad because I’ve always felt he was a great actor, just apparently the Elvis voice people turned people off of him I guess,” the wrote.
Another user talked about Butler’s performance, and how it contrasted Chalamet’s.
“They were all great. I’m stuck between the thought of Butlers more intense, subtly terrifying portrayal pf Feyd-Rautha or Chalamets excellent and more emotion based performance, especially at the end,” they wrote.
“Austin Butler…i’m not a huge fan of Elvis but holy s*** he won me over here,” another wrote.
Clearly, all of Butler’s prep work paid off.

Austin Butler Worked Hard To Get Into Character
This time around, Butler refrained from the method acting approach that he used in Elvis.
Said Butler, “I’ve definitely, in the past, with Elvis, explored living within that world for three years and that being the only thing that I think about day and night. With Feyd, I knew that that would be unhealthy for my family and friends.”
Given the character’s nature, we would say that this was the right move.
Butler also dished on the accent he used in the film
“I felt that because he grew up with the Baron, the Baron would be a big influence on him in many ways. So then I started thinking about the way that he speaks, and that being linked to the person that you see with the most power from the time that you’re a child, who you do end up emulating in some way,” Butler said
