After Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman’s latest film was branded “gross,” by viewers the Miller’s Girl intimacy coordinator weighed in on the conversation and hit back at critics.
The trailer for the upcoming film teased a steamy sex scene which left many uneasy due to the actors’ 31-year age gap.
However, the 21-year-old actress was said to be “sure of what she wanted to do” during the scene and reportedly completely supported during filming.
Jenna stars as 18-year-old creative writing student Cairo Sweet while the Sherlock star, 52, takes on the role of her teacher Jonathan Miller, and the pair find themselves in an inappropriate relationship.
Following the backlash, intimacy coordinator Kristina Arjona claimed Jenna was involved in decisions about the racy moments, and insisted that there were no “boundaries surpassed.”

The film sees Cairo and Jonathan become entangled with the student choosing to pen a sex story after being given a creative writing assignment by her tutor-turned-love interest.
Ahead of production, Kristina discussed the “level of nudity” with Jenna and Martin, as well as which “simulated sex scenes” were required.
She then took them through modesty garments and the “additional barriers” they could use to ensure an “appropriate distance” was maintained.
While the information was also given to the actors in a written format 48 hours filming, Kristina stressed that they “also have the option on the day to change their mind if they don’t want to do any of the elements that we’ve discussed.”
