Similar to other stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Taylor Swift who’ve made sponsorship deals, Joe Jonas has endorsed a product. In Joe Jonas’ case, sponsoring an anti-wrinkle cream put a spotlight on his feelings about aging.
What Skincare Product Did Joe Jonas Endorse?
Back when Joe Jonas first became famous, he was a fresh-faced young musician who became an actor too. At that time in his life, Jonas seemed like he was still trying to figure out who he was only he went through that process in front of the world.
Due to Joe Jonas’ young age at that time, he made some infamous mistakes that people still bring up today. The two most obvious examples of that were his decision to wear a purity ring and his failed relationship with Taylor Swift.
Fortunately for Joe Jonas, it seemed like he had a lot better grasp on his identity over time. On top of that, thanks to songs like DNCE’s “Body Moves”, Joe Jonas’ fans definitely seemed to accept that he’d grown up and changed.
Then, Joe Jonas’ age came into the spotlight once again for a completely new reason. Once Joe Jonas got into a relationship with a much younger star, there was a lot of focus on the couple’s sizable age gap.
As any of Joe Jonas’ fans will already know, he fell for Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner. After the couple got married and had kids, their fans learned that Jonas and Turner had decided to get divorced.
Before Jonas and Turner went their separate ways, however, he gave fans another reason to focus on his age. In 2022, Jonas agreed to endorse a product that claims to help people fight the ravages of time.
Willing to talk about his own perspective on aging, Jonas publicly endorsed an injectable beauty product called Xeomin. On the website of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, they report that Xeomin is approved by the FDA to help people with “frown lines between the eyebrows”.
On Xeomin Aesthetic’s Instagram page, they uploaded images from Joe Jonas’ ads for the company. Alongside those images, they quoted Jonas explaining why he decided to work with the company and use its products.
“For me, less is more when it comes to my skincare regimen, because I really care about what I am treated with. That’s why I decided to get treated with a #smarttoxin called @xeominaesthetic. It’s created to only contain the essential ingredients you need to help temporarily smooth the look of frown lines.”
Around that same time, Jonas spoke to People about the sponsorship deal. During the resulting conversation, Jonas spoke about his outlook on aging. As Jonas explained, he’d come to believe that part of maturing is becoming comfortable with your body.
“We’re all getting older and part of that is being comfortable [in our skin].” While Jonas encouraged people to love their bodies, he also stated his belief that there is no reason to hide whatever you do to look the way you want.
“I don’t think it’s necessarily something that we have to shy away from. We can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth.”
After talking about what he liked about Xeomin, Jonas went on to celebrate how society had changed. As Jonas explained, in years past he would have been worried that his manhood would have been judged if he was open about his skincare routine.
“There were all these talks at one point, like, ‘Oh, men can’t do this or it’s weird for guys to do that,’ and I think there’s a stigma that’s fading, and I like that. Guys are more openly wearing makeup, and it’s great to see. It’s like, do whatever you want, you know? It’s a beautiful generation that we’re living in.”
For fans who weren’t paying attention to Jonas’ social media activity in recent years, Jonas having a skincare routine may have been surprising. However, there had already been a public hint that Jonas cared about keeping his skin supple and line-free.
Did Sophie Turner Convince Joe Jonas To Take Care Of His Skin?
Just over a year before Joe Jonas and Xeomin Aesthetic announced their partnership, he uploaded a TikTok video. In that short clip, Jonas seemed to be getting help to take care of his skin from none other than Sophie Turner.
As the camera focused on Jonas’ face in the video, a jade facial roller was being used to massage his skin. Since fans knew that hand was wearing the engagement ring Jonas gave to Turner, everyone figured out that she was the one massaging his face.
Of course, lots of people have put up with their spouses trying different products on them. As a result, it would have made some sense if people assumed Jonas’ face was being massaged without him requesting that.
Based on a voice that could be heard in the video, however, that didn’t seem to be the case. Instead, even before Jonas started working with Xeomin Aesthetic, he seemed to be making it clear that his skin mattered to him.
“If you are 30 or older duet this or use this sound and let’s show the younger generation what it means to age gracefully.” Based on how Jonas’ skin looks in recent photos, all his efforts appear to have paid off.
