However, a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE that their brief interaction was far from confrontational.

As they pass, Megan playfully gestures towards Timberlake with a friendly finger wave, and he responds with a warm smile as he continues walking. *NSYNC member Joey Fatone can also be spotted sharing in the light-hearted moment with laughter.
According to the insider, Megan’s actual message to Timberlake was an expression of her interest in spending time with him in a more relaxed and less chaotic setting.
