There is no denying Kaley Cuoco’s talents and popularity as an actress. However, it seems like that has translated in television more so than in films. Cuoco put on noteworthy performances in The Flight Attendant and, of course, The Big Bang Theory. However, when it comes to films, Kaley Cuoco can’t catch a break, especially when it comes to reviews throughout her career.
The latest film to get the cold shoulder from Rotten Tomatoes is Role Play. The film was given a 22% rating, while other publications like Metacritic also gave the film a 38% rating. Although this seems very low, it isn’t the worst of her career.
Among the aboluste lowest was Cuoco’s 2014 film alongside Chris Klein, Authors Anonymous. The Ellie Kanner directed film received a horrible rating of 8% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics clearly weren’t impressed with the film.
They wrote, “The only reason to watch this picture is for the novelty value of feeling bad for Chris Klein and/or Teri Polo. To each his own, but my recommendation is “pass.”

Kaley Cuoco’s Experience In Role Play Took A Turn After She Found Out About Her Pregnancy
Speaking alongside EW, Kaley Cuoco went into detail on how she was able to shoot Role Play with nausea. That’s right, Cuoco found out she was pregnant during the film, and did her best to hide it from the cast and crew.
She tells EW, “I found out I was pregnant while we were shooting, and I was definitely keeping that secret. I actually wanted to tell everyone because I was so excited, but I’ve always wanted to do some sort of action — I felt like that’s my calling in life — and they would’ve freaked out and taken all my stunts away.”
Kaley Cuoco Admitted Appearing On The Big Bang Theory Was A Nightmare For Even The Most Established Stars
Kaley Cuoco revealed appearing on The Big Bang Theory was a different environment for even the most experienced actors.
Although Cuoco did her best to keep things a secret, co-star David Oyelowo saw some clues along the way.
“Kaley was acting so bizarrely at points — she had this hypersensitivity to smell, she would have this 100-yard stare every now and again,” Oyelowo tells EW. “I’d thought, ‘Are my stories not entertaining you? Are we okay?’”
Cuoco ended up telling her co-star prior to a scene, which did cause him to lose a bit of focus… as expected.
Kaley Cuoco’s Role In A 38% Rated Indie FIlm Also Negatively Affected Her Role On The Big Bang Theory
An indie drama isn’t what you’d expect to see from Kaley Cuoco and the outcome once again wasn’t a good one. The film Burning Bodhi got a 38% approval rating, while Chuck Lorre on The Big Bang Theory feared the show’s ratings would drop due to Kaley’s new look.
Kaley did not tell TBBT about her new look for the indie film.
It was a moment the actress quickly regretted.
“I just cut my hair off and didn’t tell anyone. I did it for an independent film called Burning Bodhi, and basically showed up to our Big Bang wrap party with short hair.”
“I don’t know if I was being rebellious. I mean, I did do it for the movie, which was my excuse to cut it. In my attempt to spend less time on my hair, that decision bit me in the ass and it took way longer to do my short hair. I was like, This is the worst decision!”
Chuck Lorre had his doubts given the past history in such situations.
“We didn’t have a heads-up on the haircut! When you think back on it, it was startling. I wish we had been in the loop. Had she come to me, I would have told her how the ratings dropped on Dharma & Greg when Jenna Elfman did the same thing. And they dropped on Felicity as well.”
Lorre continues, “The audience had become infatuated with the character, and not just the character’s behavior and flaws and strengths, but in how the character looked.”
A risky move from Cuoco, but ultimately, The Big Bang Theory ratings were just fine.
