Kelly Clarkson may be gearing up for an address change – and not one that’s just down the street – as the singer has revealed she no longer wants to live in Los Angeles. Speaking to USA Today, Kelly reflected on her recent decision to leave LA full-time and relocate to New York with her two children.
Kelly Says She Needed A Fresh Start, So She Chose New York
The musician used to lie in Montana when married to Brandon Blackstock, though she relocated to Los Angeles after they split. Their divorce was finalized in 2021. However, it appears Kelly is moving states again. “I’ll be real honest: I thought I was making a horrible decision,” Kelly explained of her thought process. “I knew I needed a fresh start and couldn’t be in LA.”
While the singer says she has a desire to return to Montana, where her ex still lives, it wouldn’t be feasible to do full-time since she films for The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“I really wanted to be in Montana, but you can’t really do a show from there quite yet. So I was like, ‘The only other option would probably be New York,’” Kelly went on. “At this point, I’m 40 years old. Mama rented something nice!”
The singer didn’t reveal whether she’s looking into permanent roots by buying property in the big Apple, but she did express a desire to have a more luxe accommodation.
“I was like, ‘I’m not living here unless it’s right by the park and really nice for the kids,’” Kelly explained of how she chose her current rental property.
Kelly Is Losing A Concerning Amount Of Weight As She Relocates
Kelly’s decision to relocate isn’t the only reason the singer has been in the headlines recently. Her new slender figure has been a increasing source of speculation, as new photos show that Kelly appears to have undergone a big weight loss following her divorce.
