When Daniel Radcliffe came up with a hilarious way to mess with the paparazzi, fans were delighted. While Radcliffe’s plan was hilarious, the fact that the paparazzi and strangers online harass and criticize stars like Millie Bobby Brown and Britney Spears is messed up.
Even though most people believe Kristen Bell is a sweetheart, there are stories about the actor sticking up for herself. Some of those stories are sad and disturbing as Bell has been pressed so hard that she has lashed out at the paparazzi.
Why Did Kristen Bell Lash Out At The Paparazzi?
Less than a year after Kristen Bell gave birth to her eldest daughter, she flew into LAX. Even though Bell is a major movie star with loads of fans, there is nothing noteworthy about her traveling in a plane.
Even though there wasn’t anything remarkable about Bell being in an airport, she was surrounded by the paparazzi. In footage from this incident taken by the paparazzi, Bell could be seen making her way through security. Throughout the rest of the time Bell was at LAX, she was followed by a slew of photographers.
As Bell walked around with cameras shoved in front of her, she repeatedly tried to shield her face. In most cases, Bell put a small bag in front of her face and a companion of the actor’s also tried to shield her.
On top of trying to protect Bell, the actor’s companion tried to get the paparazzi to back off. Turning to the slew of photographers, Bell’s companion attempted to plead for them to simply leave the actor alone.
“Can you guys just back off for one second? Just give her some time. Just let her walk. She doesn’t want to be bothered.”
For the most part, Bell never spoke to the paparazzi who followed her everywhere that night. However, Bell spoke to the paparazzi once when she addressed them and pleaded, “Stop, please!” Unsurprisingly, Bell’s request was completely ignored.
At one point in the video, Bell seemingly was desperate to be left alone at least for a moment. As a result, Bell and her companion made their way into the women’s washroom to get some peace.
Once Bell and her companion re-emerged, a member of the paparazzi asked the actor an invasive question. “Is this the longest you ever waited in a public restroom for your ride?”
Throughout the LAX incident, Bell’s face could be seen at times. While Bell was mostly able to seem cool-headed, her face sometimes revealed how upset she truly was. At one point, Bell lost it for the briefest of moments as she shoved the bag she was using to cover her face into a paparazzo’s camera.

In the aftermath of the incident, an outlet bought some of the photos that the paparazzi harassing Bell took. In response, Bell used the website known as Twitter at the time to speak out against that outlet’s boss.
“@PerezHilton and yet the only reason they continue to harass is because your site & others buy the pictures.”
How Has Kristen Bell Stood Up To The Paparazzi?
Aside from shoving one of the paparazzi’s cameras, Kristen Bell put up with how she was treated in 2013. Perhaps that made the members of the paparazzi think that Bell would continue to put up with that treatment in the years that followed.
As it turns out, all that it would take for Bell to take a stand against the paparazzi was for them to go after the wrong people. Since the year 2014, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have both made it their mission to stand up against the paparazzi targeting celebrity’s kids. In 2014, Bell appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about a movement she and Shepard had begun.
“We started the, what we’re calling the ‘no kids policy’ and we just wanted to start a public conversation about the fact that children, under no circumstance should be followed by strangers. With or without a camera, it just should never be okay. Because they can’t understand, like, what’s happening. All they feel is like that predatory feel of being hunted. We made these decisions that we became public figures. We understand what’s going on but they don’t. And there’s so much erratic behavior that happens around schools and around parks and around kids. And I just feel like we should, you know, put a stop to it.”
As the segment continued, Bell expressed how happy she was that many outlets agreed to never buy paparazzi photos of kids. Ellen DeGeneres then went on to list some of those outlets. “Entertainment Weekly, Glamour, People, US Weekly, Access Hollywood, E Entertainment, ET, The Insider, Extra, GMA, ABC News, a lot of people.”

Bell then went on to call out several outlets that she said “made it clear as day to us that they are still going to be buying paparazzi photos of kids.” Bell mentioned “Life & Style, In Touch, and OK” as outlets that at the time were still going to make those purchases.
Around that same time, Bell and Shepard went on Acces Hollywood to debate a pair of media figures on the subject. Willing to do more than just go on shows to discuss the problem, Bell has confronted members of the paparazzi.
During a 2018 Today appearance, Bell described convincing a paparazzo to delete photos of her children. After blocking the paparazzo’s car, Bell knocked on their window and calmly spoke to him.
“Hi, my name’s Kristen. Do you realize how much you are putting my kids at risk? I have confidence your mom raised you better.”
As Bell explained, once she asked the paparazzo nicely to delete the photos, she watched them do it. Bell went on to express her opinion that the situation easily could have played out differently.
“If I had gone up to that car and yelled at him, I guarantee you he would not have deleted those pictures.”
