Taylor Swift’s fame is not new, and she had already broken records with some of her most popular songs by the time the Eras Tour came along. Despite the star singer’s troubles with body dysmorphia early in her life, she’s overcome her issues to become an even stronger artist and person.
And it was for the better, because she’s emerged as the greatest singer of her generation, and fans would argue, of all times, a fact her Eras Tour has shown in spades.
The tour has been epic not only because of Taylor’s one-of-a-kind tour outfits but also because of the wonderful new music fans greedily lapped up. The tour’s merchandise has also been a great hit with fans, despite the hefty price it commanded.
Fans all over the US lined up for hours and overnight to get a chance not only to see the star but also get their hands on Eras tour merchandise.
Moreover, Eras has already grossed more than Taylor’s 2018 Reputation Tour, which had been the highest-grossing US tour by a female singer at $266 million. As of October 2023, the Eras Tour has grossed more than $800 million and made Taylor approximately $305 million.
The effort, which is already the top tour of 2023, easily surpassed Beyoncé‘s Renaissance Tour, which only grossed less than half of what Eras achieved in half of its concerts.
Eras Has Broken Multiple Records
But the Eras Tour didn’t just break records through attendance and ticket and merchandise prices. When Taylor Swift’s concert movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, opened on October 12th, it pulled massive crowds and broke records on its own.
The movie quickly rose to number one at the box office in multiple countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, the Philippines, and Germany. It made $39 million on its opening day, making it the second-greatest October opening ever, only surpassed by Joker in 2019.
The movie runs just under three hours and made $96 million during its opening weekend earlier this month. It became the highest-grossing tour movie in the US, ahead of Justin Bieber’s tour movie, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which made $73 million, and Michael Jackson’s tour movie, which made $72 million.
But that’s not all. In early September, when the tickets went on sale for Taylor’s movie, they broke an all-time record for advance sales for AMC, which had partnered with Taylor to release it.

Taking to X to express her delight (and surprise) with how well the movie has performed, Taylor didn’t hold back on her praise and gratitude to her fans.
“What a truly mind-blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into,” she wrote.
“I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for,” she continued, adding a tongue-in-cheek angel emoji.
Taylor also had a gift for her fans. In the same tweet, she announced that she was releasing live audio from her tour and a new remix so fans can enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of her Eras Tour at home.
“One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it,” she recollected.
“For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour, so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand-new remix by @LPGiobbi. Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!!” Taylor wrote, clearly overwhelmed by all the love and support she received from fans.
It’s been an amazing year for Taylor, even amid a breakup, especially as her tour wasn’t the only highlight of the season, at least according to those who know Travis Kelce.
