Meghan’s First Christmas With The Royals Was Surprisingly Positive
Meghan discussed the topic in her Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, which was produced as part of the million-dollar deal their Archewell production company signed with the streaming giant earlier this year.
“I remember so vividly the first Christmas at Sandringham,” Meghan said in the doc. “Calling my mom, and she’s like, ‘How’s it going?’ And I said, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s amazing.’”
“It’s just like a big family like I always wanted. And there was just this constant movement and energy and fun,” she continued.
Meghan went on to recall a specific experience she had with Prince Phillip on that evening, the late husband of Queen Elizabeth.
“At dinner, I was sat next to H’s grandfather [Prince Philip] and I just thought it was so wonderful,” the actress reflected. “And I was like, ‘Oh, we chatted and it was so great. And I talked about this, and talked about this.’ He was like, ‘You had his bad ear. He couldn’t hear anything you were saying.’ I was like, ‘Oh. Well, I thought it went really well.’”
Interestingly, Meghan didn’t make any comments about any of the current royal family members when expressing how lovely her first Christmas in the UK is, possibly signalling to the tension that still exists between her and her husband’s family.
The Royals Refused To Invite Meghan And Harry This Holiday Season
Even if the couple hoped to go abroad with their two kids for the holidays, various reports say the royal family wasn’t open to receiving them amid their ongoing feud. Despite having some contact with the royal earlier this year, Meghan and Harry apparently didn’t receive an invite to join in on the royal holiday festivities.
Rather, the couple is reportedly staying in Montecito, California where they live with son Archie and daughter Lilibet. Us Weekly says Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland, who lives in the area, will join them.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Aren’t Popular, But Brits Still Want Them Back
New surveys suggest that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be welcomed back to Britain with open arms, should he return.
“They’ll be cooking, playing games and swapping gifts,” an insider said. “They have a tough time trying not to spoil the kids too much.”
Perhaps even more telling, King Charles appeared to snub his son and daughter-in-law by leaving them out of his annual Christmas message. Despite claims that Harry has asked his dad if he and Meghan can return to the UK and resume royal duties, it appears he hasn’t gotten an answer, or perhaps not the one he was hoping for.
