As anyone who has followed the music business will likely already know, it is common for artists to get involved in controversies and drama. As a result, it wasn’t overly surprising to know that fans questioned Morgan Wallen and Post Malone’s relationship in the past.

As bad as music feuds can be, it is a bigger deal when artists get arrested, including the time Dave Grohl spent time in jail. Unfortunately for Morgan Wallen, he got arrested in April 2024 after he allegedly put two police officers in danger of being seriously injured.

This article will reveal how Morgan Wallen allegedly almost injured two police officers and got himself arrested after partying too hard at a bar. Then, this article will look at Wallen’s fascinating relationship with the owner of the bar where the country music star became reckless.

Morgan Wallen Allegedly Almost Severely Injured Two Police Officers Because Of His Reckless Partying

Throughout music history, there have been several stories about superstars’ extreme partying. As a result, it is tempting to simply laugh when a story comes out about a modern musician being reckless in one way or another while partying.

For example, it may not seem surprising to learn that Morgan Wallen was arrested in April 2024 after a night at a bar. However, if the accusations are true, the country music superstar almost did severe damage to two police officers.

According to an NBC News report, Wallen was enjoying himself in a rooftop bar that sat atop a six-story building. Wallen then allegedly threw a chair from the rooftop bar to the ground below where it could have injured the police officers.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has stated that the chair Wallen allegedly threw landed roughly three feet from two police officers. If that chair struck those police officers, it could have done a severe or even catastrophic amount of damage to them.

When and where was Morgan Wallen born, according to Britannica?

When was Morgan Wallen born?:

May 13, 1993

Where was Morgan Wallen born?:

Sneedville, Tennessee

How old is Morgan Wallen as of April 2024?:

30 years old

According to Brainly, a six-story building typically is 60 feet tall. A chair thrown from that height would have a lot of momentum behind it when it hits the ground.

It also has to be noted that if Wallen threw the chair while partying, as is alleged, there is a very good chance he launched the chair with extra force. If that were the case, the chair becomes even more dangerous upon impact.

Finally, it is important to note that if the chair struck either of the police officers, that wouldn’t be the end of it. That kind of force would almost certainly force the officer off their feet and cause further damage when they hit the ground or whatever else was around them.

In October 2023, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on a lawsuit that Live Nation Entertainment settled stemming from a tragic 2019 incident. A man named Jasen Smith attended a Dave Matthews Band concert at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater when he was struck by a chair.

The chair which was thrown from several feet above hit Smith who fell and hit his head on a concrete walkway. After Smith wasn’t given medical attention quickly enough, he passed away in hospital the following morning.

That tragic incident proves how catastrophic a brain injury can be. With that in mind, it is easy to see how close Wallen allegedly came to doing a severe amount of damage to the two police officers.

No wonder the two police officers investigated who threw the chair from the six-story bar and quickly made an arrest.

As NBC News reported, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department spoke to witnesses who claimed to have seen Wallen throw the chair. One of those witnesses claimed that they, “observed him pick up the chair and throw it over him, laughing afterward.”

The police also reportedly gained access to security footage that showed Wallen, “lunging and throwing an object over the roof”.

After Morgan Wallen was bailed out of jail, his attorney, Worrick Robinson, released a statement on his behalf. “At 10:53p Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.”

Based on that evidence, the police arrested Wallen on three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

Morgan Wallen’s Close Friend And Country Singer Eric Church Owns The Bar Where The Chair Throwing Incident Began

As a part of NBC News’ reporting on Morgan Wallen’s chair-throwing arrest, they revealed that the incident began at a Nashville bar called Chief’s. Furthermore, NBC News revealed that Chief’s is owned by Eric Church, and it was celebrating its opening weekend at the time of the incident.

In February 2022, the lifestyle website Whiskey Riff published an article about Wallen and Church’s relationship. For that piece, the website quoted Wallen talking to Country Countdown USA about his relationship with Church and how much he looked up to him.

“I don’t exactly when it was we started hanging out, we went on a golf trip together and ended up fishing. But we started hanging out then, we just became buddies. I guess we kind of have a similar attitude or whatever it is. I know he doesn’t publicly come out and have a lot of buddies, but he’s always been my country music hero… he’s one of the main reasons that I sing country music.”

In addition to Wallen and Church being close friends, the two country stars have also been business partners. In January 2024, Variety reported that Church and Wallen had teamed up with others to buy the Field & Stream brand. The duo and their partners did this with plans to launch a music festival and more.

Given the depth of Church and Wallen’s bond, that puts the chair-throwing incident in a new light. After all, it is easy to imgaine Church being frustrated that his pal brought negative press attention to his newly opened bar.
