She stayed with Univision after her initial contract with the network expired, despite receiving multiple offers from other English-speaking television networks. Moreover, she remained a co-host of Primer Impacto until 2004.
She was named “Star of the Year” by readers of the magazine “People en Espanol” in 2004. She also hosted the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at the White House in Washington, D.C. Moreover, she was then appointed by US President George W. Bush to the Freedom Corps, a group of 25 people who collaborate to promote charitable giving.

Then, she turned her attention to social service and other humanitarian causes, such as assisting victims of domestic abuse and orphaned children. She was named spokesperson for the “I Am Second” movement in 2013, which aims to provide spiritual inspiration and hope to people dealing with life issues such as divorce, abortion, and child abuse.

Myrka returned to television in 2013 as a host and contributor for the American-based Hispanic network Estrella TV and its news magazine En la Mira con Enrique Gratas, after an 8-year absence from broadcast journalism. Moreover, she is the author of several notable books, including Succeed and Be Happy: I Learned Thanks to God, My Mom, and Life.
In March 2022, she started cohosting “La Mesa Caliente” on Telemundo, a round table show similar to “The View.” In 2023, she served as a guest judge at the 71st Miss Universe pageant, which was held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
