Piers Morgan admits he’d join ITV Celebrity Big Brother if bosses meet outrageous demands

Piers Morgan has hinted he might join Celebrity Big Brother on ITV, but only if they meet his hefty pay demands. The 58-year-old TV star has had a successful career, being a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent, as well as hosting his own TalkTV show Piers Morgan: Uncensored, which recently moved to YouTube.

Fans of reality shows are hoping that Piers could join the current line-up, which already includes former X Factor judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

When asked about joining the current season of the show – the 23rd season and the first on ITV after Channel 5 cancelled it in 2018 – Piers didn’t say no, but he did set out his conditions. He made it clear that he would only appear on the show if the bosses paid him a lot of money.

A fan suggested to Piers on X (Twitter): “With Louis and Sharon in the Big Brother house, I think it’s time to add another former talent show judge. Yes, I’m looking at you @piersmorgan.”

Piers responded to the suggestion with enthusiasm, replying: “Great idea you can agent my deal, son. Start negotiations at £10m… per minute.”

His fans were eager to see this happen, with one writing: “Think you’d be brilliant in there, the arguments you would cause would be hilarious [cry-laughing emoji].”

Another added: “Oh Piers! You would be fantastic in the Big Brother house! [star-eyes emoji, laughing emoji] Do it! ” A third chimed in: “Worth every penny [giggling emoji].”

Whilst £10 million per minute might not be achievable, the star could still negotiate an impressive sum. Sharon reportedly joined the show for a daily fee of £100,000 – she even managed to secure her own room and limit her time on the show to just five days.

A source told the Mirror earlier this week: “Sharon didn’t fancy the full slog on the show and she knew how much the bosses wanted her so she made a special deal. She isn’t staying for the full show but is still taking home one of the biggest pay cheques.”

ITV insiders revealed that securing Sharon was a top priority to ensure the new series “has The X Factor ” and kicks off on a high note.

The star’s team has fought back against the story, saying it is “not true” – but they didn’t say if the music manager was getting paid less or more for being on the show.

This week, 58-year-old businessman Gary Goldsmith and 51-year-old Real Housewife Lauren Simon are up for the public vote.

Sharon chose Gary to be up for eviction, and the other housemates voted for Lauren. The one who gets the least votes will have to leave the house tonight.

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
