Death In Paradise star Ralf Little was left red-faced as he walked through London’s St Pancras station wearing a hoodie emblazoned with the BBC show’s logo. The Neville Parker actor, 44, had inadvertently stepped out in the item after a morning dash to the gym which ended in an unexpected trip to the train station.
In clips shared to his Instagram Story, Ralf explained to his 186,000 followers: “I went to the gym this morning and I put on this hoodie to keep me warm, it’s a Death In Paradise cast and crew hoodie.
“Now, I find myself in St Pancras station which wasn’t the plan. It is suddenly really mortifying to be walking around wearing your own show’s hoodie. It is very kind of like, ‘Ooh, notice me, notice me’.
“I have heard a couple of people go, ‘It must be him, he is wearing Death In Paradise top’.
“That said, it is only a couple of people and no one else seems to give a toss. Clearly, I’m not a big deal.”
Ralf said he shared the mishap with his Death In Paradise colleagues and they jokingly said he was bluffing and simply wanted to get some attention.
He continued: “I just sent that to a few of my mates who worked on the show with me. They were like, ‘Lies, you just wanted the attention’. That just makes it even worse because it didn’t work,” he chuckled.
It comes after Ralf left Death In Paradise last month after almost four and a half years playing Neville Parker.
Appearing on BBC Breakfast last week, Ralf shared the reason behind his departure, saying that “it felt right”.
He said: “I had talks with the BBC, and with [production company] Red Planet, and we all agreed that it just felt… if it was in my heart, like if it was just a heart decision, I’d have wanted to do it for 20 more years.
“But just for the show, and for my character Neville, it just sort of felt like his story… it deserved to be finished, and his journey deserved to be completed, and he deserved a nice happy ending. And so it just felt right.”
With his replacement yet to be announced, fans were overjoyed when BBC bosses confirmed a new spin-off is coming to screens.
The broadcaster announced filming has commenced on Return to Paradise, Australia’s original spin-off series of the global smash-hit murder mystery franchise Death in Paradise, which is also produced by its sister show, Beyond Paradise.
Return to Paradise follows DI Mackenzie Clarke (Anna Samson), an Australian ex-pat who’s made a name for herself in London’s Metropolitan Police for cracking uncrackable murder cases.
