Richard Madeley let his fitness influencer daughter Chloe know that she’s in his thoughts by sending a bouquet of colourful flowers, weeks after she announced her heartbreaking marriage split.
Chloe and rugby ace James Haskell revealed last month that they’d decided to part ways, following the airing of their fly-on-the-wall TV show about their marriage, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair.
The 36-year-old shared a photo of a full vase this afternoon, writing: “Dad stopped by to surprise me with flowers, because he’s cute!”
Richard has always been supportive of his daughter and previously told her to seek help after she struggled with being trolled for who her parents are.
The nutrition expert revealed that she’d gone through a phase of “self-medicating” with alcohol and that her dad once found her on the floor following a binge.
She told Mail Online: “It felt like people hated me, just for being my parents’ daughter, and got to a point where I was so desperately unhappy I couldn’t function any more.
“I couldn’t sleep, I was up all night, either vomiting or drinking, which obviously made everything worse.
“My dad found me on the kitchen floor one morning, at my worst, and said, ‘Look, you need help. I’m not a doctor… but there are people who are qualified and paid to help you. So let’s find them and get you some support.’”
Chloe received a diagnosis of General Anxiety Disorder, and has been receiving ongoing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) ever since.
Over the years, she has worked as a personal trainer, fitness instructor and influencer and reality star, with TV credits such as Dancing On Ice and The Jump under her belt.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Chloe revealed she hadn’t yet made the decision to formally change her surname to Haskell, and admitted having mixed feelings about taking the plunge.
Now, she and James have split, but she’s announced that she plans to have more children in the future if possible, after giving birth to daughter Bodhi last year.
During a recent Instagram Q&A session, she told her 294,000 followers that she has a “big family” and is keen to “keep it that way”.
However, dating and baby plans are on the backburner for the time being, as she added: “I want to be and I will continue to be surrounded by females for the foreseeable.”
She’s been seen in a series of sexy and seductive outfits while out on the town with female friends since her marriage split.
Chloe previously clarified: “James and I are not together anymore but we are determined to be the absolute best parents we can be to our amazing little girl.”
