The former Game of Thrones star, 27, was captured arm-in-arm with Taylor, 33, on Tuesday as they shared an evening in New York. Following a meal at a restaurant, the duo made their way to Temple Bar, situated on Lafayette Street.
For their girls’ night out, Sophie sported a gray crop top paired with loose-fitting, coordinated pants. She accessorized with a black purse while draping a black sweater around her waist.
For her part, Taylor was seen in a red mini-dress, complemented by an oversized denim jacket. She finished her look with brown knee-high boots, and a petite green handbag.
Joe Jonas Broke Up With Taylor Swift In A Phone Call
Sophie and Taylor’s evening out speaks volumes, considering the singer’s history with Sophie’s estranged husband, Joe Jonas.
The two women have rarely been seen hanging out prior to Tuesday even, with many fans speculating Sophie and Taylor are bonding over the fact that Joe is now an ex to both of them. They apparently first met in 2019 during their joint appearance on BBC One’s The Graham Norton Show (the same year Sophie and Joe wed).
After this meeting, Sophie described Taylor Swift as a “genuinely kind person” in an interview with Extra, and they have remained friends ever since.
Taylor was briefly involved with the Jonas Brothers singer in July 2008, but their relationship came to an end just a few months later in October of the same year. Rumor has it that Joe Jonas initiated the breakup with a succinct 25-second phone call.
Taylor discussed this on the Ellen DeGeneres Show shortly after, stating, “I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.”
Joe later defended himself against Taylor’s comments, saying he wasn’t the one who chose to end the phone call so abruptly. “’For those who have expressed concern over the ‘27 second’ phone call, I called to discuss feelings with the other person,” he wrote on Myspace. “Those feelings were obviously not well received. I did not end the conversation.”
