Stacey Solomon said she doesn’t think she will “ever be done” as she confessed keeping her latest home renovation plans a secret from husband Joe Swash. The 34-year-old mother of five made the admission as she gears up for the premiere of her new programme, Stacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue, airing tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
The Sort Your Life Out presenter has already worked wonders on her idyllic country cottage, even daring to paint her kitchen black. Yet, Stacey’s DIY ambitions are far from over, as she’s hinted at more projects in the pipeline.
Speaking to Channel 4, Stacey shared her passion for crafting and renovations, saying: “I don’t think I’ll ever be done DIYing… Although don’t tell Joe that. It’s almost therapeutic for me.
“Growing up, my parents taught us how to do DIY and that was a real privilege, so I want my kids to have the same. I’d love to see some basic DIY skills introduced in school curriculums actually!”
She also offered some pearls of wisdom for budding DIY enthusiasts, saying: “Don’t give up. I think people assume they’re not good at something, but anyone can learn new building skills with some practice.
“That’s how tradespeople get good! They’re not born with it, you don’t come out of the womb with a bloomin’ spirit level, do you?”
Stacey Solomon has been delighting her Instagram fans with glimpses into her domestic bliss, showcasing homemade decorations and clever DIY tips.
She shared her passion for home transformations, saying: “Something that gives maximum satisfaction, like painting! I love re-painting the hallway which happens a lot with five kids and a Joe Swash and it really makes such a difference. Once you’ve got something under the belt, you can get the DIY bug!”
The Loose Women presenter recently took her interior design game up a notch by daring to paint her kitchen black. Stacey posted a snapshot of an open paint pot with the words: “The kitchen is now black,” before revealing that she had kept the bold makeover a secret from husband Joe and their children.
Defiantly embracing her choice, she shared her reasoning behind the dramatic kitchen revamp: “It is the f*** it year after all! So I didn’t tell anyone, ask anyone’s opinion, I just had it painted.”
