When Steve Harvey’s youngest daughter, Lori Harvey, began dating People’s Sexist Man Alive, Michael B. Jordan, fans and onlookers were in a frenzy. It seemed that everywhere Steve Harvey turned, questions about his daughter and her love life were at the ready.

When he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres and took a seat next to the queen of flawless segues, Steve Harvey was unexpectedly shown a picture of Lori that he’d never seen before.

By the looks of it, the picture was likely from Michael B. Jordan’s or Lori Harvey’s Instagram. Either way, however, Steve Harvey figuratively shifted in his seat as soon as the photo appeared on the teleprompter. “Look at that. That’s happening in front of you?” Ellen asked the Family Feud host. He obviously hadn’t: “I’ve never seen that picture before.” Harvey said. (Insert awkward pause and lengthy chuckle from Ellen.) “I’m very uncomfortable with that picture right now.”

Despite Steve Harvey being put in the hot seat by Ellen, he took it all on the chin, making the exchange a comical one.

Who Is Lori Harvey?

Lori Harvey is the youngest daughter out of Steve Harvey’s seven children. Although Lori was adopted by Steve Harvey following his marriage to her mom, Marjorie, he sees her as his own.

Lori made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her career as a model, which she started in 2015. She even launched her own skincare line, SKN, in 2021. However, alongside talk of her career always looms a love story.

It’s no secret that Lori has a type. All of her boyfriends have been high-profile, with Lori’s most notable relationship being with Creed star Michael B. Jordan.

The comedian and relationship guru has seven children in total.

Steve Harvey and his then-wife Marica Harvey gave birth to twin girls back in 1982. One was named Brandi Harvey and the other was named Karli Harvey. Then followed Steve and Marica’s baby boy named Broderick Harvey Jr. in 1991.

Steve’s next set of children came with his second wife, Mary Shackelford. The couple welcomed their son Wynton to their world in 1997.

The first step Steve took to blend the large family was to abandon the term “stepchildren,” according to an interview with Good Morning America.

“The first thing we did, we don’t use the term stepchildren. I never refer to my youngest daughter as my stepdaughter. She is my daughter. I don’t want them to feel alienated when I introduce them.”

As far as the age differences go, Steve said that they had to create a system for the children. Since the ranking will now change (i.e. youngest sibling, middle sibling, oldest sibling), Steve introduced “accountability partners” where he gives the two oldest of the clan different responsibilities than those of the youngest ones. The goal of this is for them to serve as role models while bonding in the process.

To this day, Steve Harvey’s love for all of his children is abundantly clear. Even as he’s shown never-before-seen photos of them that he probably would’ve preferred not seeing in his lifetime.
