Strictly Come Dancing pro Nikita shares a touching farewell message to his BBC pals amid reports he’s joining ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother. The 26-year-old star, who joined the BBC dance show in 2021 and nearly won last year with actor Layton Williams, 29, has been dancing all over the UK on the Strictly Live Tour for the last two months.
On Friday, the Ukrainian dancer posted some fun photos from his adventures on tour. He went on Instagram to post pictures of him and his friends having a great time.
He wrote with the photos: “Missing all of these lovely people and happy moments… Last tour pics btw,” and added a sad face and red heart emojis.
In the photos, there’s one of Nikita with another Strictly dancer, Dianne Buswell, aged 34, dressed up as Barbie and Ken inside a pink box, reports The Mirror Online.
Another shows him close to his dance partner Layton, both holding trophies after winning one of the live nights. There are also pictures of the whole gang of Strictly dancers smiling together.
Fans loved seeing the pro dancers hanging out together. A fan shared: “Love all these pictures, especially the ninth one it’s so wholesome. I really miss seeing you two together. #teamlakita for life.”
Another echoed similar sentiments, saying: “Missing this so much missing watching Lakita dancing together. Think I’ll be needing to see a shrink soon.”
Nikita is now rumoured to be joining the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother. His participation in the ITV show was reported last week, which has led to speculation about his future as a Strictly professional.
According to The Sun, a source said: “This will send the rumour mill into overdrive, with some already suggesting he may not return to Strictly and is instead making the most of being a rising star. He’ll have been selected by CBB producers as an obvious heartthrob who can spice things up in the house – and maybe even spill some secrets from behind the scenes of Strictly.”
Responding to the rumoured line up, ITV said: “Any names are at this point pure speculation and viewers will have to tune to see who will be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.”
The new series will start filming on Sunday, with the first episode airing on ITV on Monday at 9pm.
