Channel 4 fans were left speechless after Christopher Eccleston called Jason Isaacs a “t**t” live on air during today’s edition of Sunday Brunch.
The 59-year-old appeared on the breakfast show to talk about playing Scrooge in a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic.
During one segment, Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs was speaking about whether or not there will be another season of the Netflix series The OA.
“When it was cancelled I was crying in a phone box,” Jason admitted. “Pathetic this – we were all crying – me and the creators.
“I hope we get to do it again, if we don’t – those two seasons are pretty good.”
Then Christopher asked Jason: “So, you went into a phone box with a mobile phone?”
Jason laughed: “It was pouring with rain that’s why!” to which Laura Aikman said: “To cry in.”
He then added: “I was hoping it was the Tardis,” to which Christopher gasped and said: “T**t.”
Both Sunday Brunch hosts apologised to viewers immediately for the outburst, as Jason added: “Oh wait, it’s live.”
Christopher Eccleston is best known for being the ninth Doctor in the sci-fi series, Doctor Who.
The Tardis, which comes in the form of a blue phone box, is a time-travel machine that The Doctor uses.
Many people noticed the live swearing and couldn’t help but react on social media.
One person posted on X: “Did Christopher Eccleston say what I thought he said on Sunday Brunch?”
A second chimed in: “Christopher eccleston shouting t**t at someone on live television because they mentioned the tardis.” (sic)
A third typed: “Christopher Eccleston calling Jason Isascs a t**t on sunday morning tele because he mentioned the Tardis,” (sic) with laughing emojis.
Sunday Brunch airs at 9:30am on Channel 4 every Sunday morning.
