Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Kept Their Relationship A Secret For A While
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance might seem rushed to some people. After all, only a couple of months after their relationship was made public, there were rumors about them getting engaged.
It all makes sense, though, when you realize that they had been seeing each other secretly for a long time before the rest of the world found out.
It had to have been a challenge to keep their new romance secret, considering how practically everything Taylor Swift does gets broadcast everywhere, but it’s a good thing they did, because it was what they needed to build a foundation for their relationship.
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” Taylor Swift said in her Person of the Year interview with TIME magazine. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
The first time she went to see him at a game was also not the first time she met the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs. Coach Dave Merritt shared that she would show up at the stadium “privately” when she and Travis Kelce first started seeing each other.
“She was coming into the stadiums without people really knowing until the camera put a big spotlight on it,” he said.
Taylor Is Part Of The Chiefs Family Now
Travis Kelce’s team and coaches couldn’t be happier about his relationship with Taylor Swift, and they now consider the pop star to be one of them. Coach Dave Merritt actually said that her presence made the team better, as she completely changed Travis’ life.
“She actually affected the team in a positive way. It wasn’t a negative way. Everybody was excited and Travis was happy,” the coach said. “So when my player, a brother, is happy beside me, that helps me and that encourages me and so Travis came in there a different man. So, she helped us.”

Taylor Swift isn’t the only musician who has turned down the Super Bowl Halftime Show, with other big-name artists also saying no to the gig.
The team also made it clear that, much like the Kelce family, they wouldn’t put up with any Taylor Swift bashing.
“There were so many people that were hating the fact that she was being shown on the TV that, you know what? You’re part of our family because you’re now with Travis,” Dave Merritt said. “So, therefore, you’re our little sister… You’re part of our family.“
