Highlights
- Fans believe Justin and Claire Duggar will announce a baby in 2024 due to their three-year marriage without kids.
- Some Duggar kids may halt expanding their families, while others continue to have more children.
- Younger Duggars may enter into courtships soon, following the family trend of marrying young.
Today, the Duggars are famous for many things, but when they first started out, the Duggar family grew to fame because of how large their family was. When they first went on the air, the Duggars had over a dozen kids, and eventually stopped at 19, plus an adopted family member to make 20.
But even before Michelle and Jim Bob stopped announcing pregnancies, their adult children began having kids. In fact, the Duggars’ youngest child, Josie, is about two months younger than her niece, Josh and Anna’s first child, Mackynzie. More than a decade later, plenty of Duggar kids have grown their own families, but fans are still waiting on one specific couple to issue a pregnancy announcement.
Here’s who fans suspect will have the next Duggar baby, which Duggar kids might be changing their baby plans, and what may come next for Duggar courtships.
Fans Think Justin And Claire Duggar Are Due For A Baby Announcement In 2024
After three years of marriage, Claire and Justin hadn’t yet had a baby
With the Duggars, it seems like there is always baby news, and so far, fans haven’t been disappointed. As of March 2024, the Duggars have at least 33 grandchildren, with Josh and Anna in the lead with seven and Jessa and Ben Seewald the runners-up with five.
However, fans suspect that it won’t be long until another pregnancy announcement, and they have a specific couple in mind.
Commenters on Reddit theorize that Justin and Claire’s will give the Duggar family’s next baby announcement in 2024. Their reasoning? The simple fact that Justin and Claire have been married the longest without having a baby.
Granted, the couple was young when they got married (Justin was newly 18 and his bride was 19), but after three years of marriage, fans surmised that a pregnancy announcement could come anytime.
Josh And Anna Duggar’s Now-Defunct Website Hints At Everything The Couple Refused To Address Publicly
Josh and Anna Duggar used to have a family website, but it went down after Josh’s scandals — though not before backups were made.
The 14th child of Michelle and Jim Bob, Justin is quite private about his life, sharing only select photos and videos on his Instagram page and limiting followers’ comments. While some comments have asked about a Duggar-Spivey baby, Justin doesn’t seem to respond, nor does he hint at having children on his page.
Justin did, however, share photos of himself and his wife with mini ponies, with commenters saying how great of a husband he was for, apparently, buying them.
Some fans did acknowledge that maybe Justin and Claire aren’t ready for kids yet, hence why there hasn’t been an announcement. Others speculated that they may be having trouble conceiving, but in their very early 20s, that potential explanation was not at the forefront of the discussion.
Duggar Baby News: Are Any Of The Duggar Children Done Having Kids?
Some of the grown Duggar kids may not have more children
Along with speculation about Justin and Claire possibly having another child, fans also speculated about the other Duggars’ family planning. Some thought that Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo might try for a third baby (hoping for a boy), but suspected that they might be happy with two since Jinger discussed her difficult pregnancies in her book.
A Timeline Of Jinger Duggar And Jeremy Vuolo’s Relationship (And What Fans Think Are Red Flags)
Jinger and Jeremy Duggar’s relationship moved fast, and fans think they’ve spotted red flags.
Fans also joked that Anna wouldn’t be having more children, since her husband is in prison for about 12 years, giving Jessa time to catch up with a sixth and seventh.
Some fans thought Jill was probably “done” having kids, while others joked that maybe a Duggar will end up with fraternal twins. After all, they seem to run in the family; Michelle and Jim Bob had two sets (John-David and Jana and Jedediah and Jeremiah).
Which Duggars Are Courting Now, And Who’s Next?
Some of the younger Duggars could announce courtships soon
Most of the Duggar family’s older kids got married not long after becoming legal adults, save for Jana, who fans think will continue to live at home until her siblings all move out.
As far as marriage goes, the Duggars tend to marry young; to date, John-David was the oldest Duggar to get married at age 28. Oldest son Josh Duggar got married at 21, starting a trend in which most of the other kids got married between 21 and 23 years old.
How Many Of The Duggars Have Moved Far Away From Home (And Why)?
Did any of the Duggar family’s kids take the first opportunity to move away from their home in Arkansas? Not necessarily.
However, Justin Duggar broke the tradition when he got married at age 18, after announcing his courtship to Claire Spivey (who was 19 on their wedding day) at 17. Joy-Anna Duggar is next in line; she got married to Austin Forsyth (who was 23) at age 19.
Joy-Anna got married in 2017, welcoming three children (and suffering a miscarriage) between 2018 and 2023 (though some have speculated that Joy-Anna’s husband “settled” for her). Justin and Claire’s 2021 marriage was also the first to not be televised on the family’s reality TV shows.
The next Duggar in the lineup for marriage might be one of the already-adult kids; Jason, James, Jackson, and Johannah are legal adults, with Jennifer turning 18 in 2025.
