Donald Trump Refused To Answer If Barack Obama Is Born In The United States
It was an interview fans thought they’d never see between Donald Trump and Stephen Colbert. The conversation took place eight years ago, and Trump hasn’t returned since, which really shouldn’t be too surprising. The two discussed several topics, including Trump’s plan at the time to build a wall that would block immigrants from illegally crossing into the US. Colbert had some fun of his own with the question.
There was another topic of conversation that was brought up, and that was Barack Obama’s birth certificate. At the time, Trump was saying that Obama was born outside the US. He had a chance to back his statement up with Colbert, but refused to answer the question.
Trump said at the time, “I don’t talk about it anymore. I talk about jobs. I talk about our veterans being horribly treated. I just don’t discuss that anymore.”
The interview moment can be seen in the video below, near the end.

Donald Trump Took Back His Prior Statement That Barack Obama Wasn’t Born In The US
Back in the fall of 2016, CNN ran a story that showed Trump finally admitting, “President Barack Obama was born in the United States.”
Hillary Clinton was quick to take a shot at Trump, “For five years, he has led the birther movement to delegitimize our first black president. His campaign was founded on this outrageous lie.”
As for Trump’s change of mind, there was no reveal as to why. CNN wrote, “Trump offered no apologies for his leading role in the birther movement and didn’t explain what drove him to change his mind. The President dismissed Trump’s criticism Friday, joking with reporters at the White House and saying, “I was pretty confident about where I was born.””
Ryan Gosling Walked Out Of His Interview With Stephen Colbert After A Comment Made By Russell Crowe
Not only did Ryan Gosling walk off the Late Show set, but he also ripped Stephen Colbert’s script while Russell Crowe looked on.
Michelle Obama was among the others to also discuss the allegations. “There were those who questioned and continue to question for the past eight years up through this very day whether my husband was even born in this country,” she said. “Well, during his time in office, I think Barack has answered those questions with the example he set by going high when they low.”
Trump ignored the question after revealing that Obama was in fact born in the US, and was ready to move on.
Stephen Colbert Revealed He Won’t Interview Donald Trump Again
Stephen Colbert made several major reveals following his interview with Donald Trump. Colbert revealed he won’t interview the former President again, and indicated that Trump is very different behind the scenes compared to on-screen.
“Backstage, he’s just like some guy you might meet at a club. I mean ‘country club,’ not like disco. He’s very clubbish and he’s kind of innocuous in a way. There’s nothing particularly remarkable about him.”
“Then he puts on a persona for a camera, and the persona he gave me when he was on the show the first time was actually very quiet and very reserved,” Colbert said about their interview.
Colbert would go on to reveal that he was disapointed over the interview, and won’t do it again. “I did once. I wouldn’t want to anymore,” Colbert said. “He was actually kind of disappointing.”
“He played ‘the reasonable man.’ He’s always kinda in persona mode,” Colbert said. “Sometimes he plays, like, the ‘rallying populist’ and other times he plays the ‘reasonable man.”
Colbert won’t go back on his words as he continues to take shots at Donald Trump to this very day. In all likelihood, Trump isn’t interested in making a return either.
