Rylan didn’t seem too disappointed however congratulating the pair online in a social media post.
Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, he posted a picture of the two and wrote: “Congrats to these lovely two. I can’t wait to watch from my own sofa whilst sitting in my pants. Both two of tv’s decent ones. I officially name you ‘BAT’.” (sic)
Rylan was replaced by Paddy McGuinness on his radio show after announcing he would be absent for four weeks.
Although he didn’t detail the reason why he stepped away from his show in February, he teased there was something exciting in the pipeline.
He said: “I’m going to be off for a few weeks filming something very special. So, the wonderful Paddy McGuinness is going to be keeping my lovely Radio 2 listeners entertained while I’m away.”
The presenter shake-up came after the 35-year-old revealed he’d be headlining at Henley Festival in July, alongside the likes of Gladys Knight and Nicole Scherzinger.
Speaking about taking over Rylan’s show, Paddy promised to provide an “endless supply of dad jokes”.
Rylan has been at the station for five years and recently took to Instagram to to mark the occassion with a throwback image of his first day.
