Travis Kelce was vocal about wanting to date Taylor Swift months before it happened, but those aren’t the only comments to recently resurfaced. The NFL star has left a bad taste in the mouth of fans after old footage of him claiming to want to find a “breeder” to have kids with has gone viral.
Travis Says He Wants To Find A “Breeder” To Have Kids With
During a February episode of his New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his older brother Jason Kelce, also an NFL tar, the two entered into a discussion of who their mom Donna Kelce was cheering for during the Super Bowl LVII.
Jason suggested that he’s their mother’s favorite since he’s given her grandchildren. The athlete has three children – daughter Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, 9 month – with his wife Kylie Kelce.
This led Travis to say that he needs to “start breeding” in order to win his mother’s favor back. “To all the breeders out there,” Travis said during the episode. “I’m gonna find a breeder, and I’m gonna get kids so that mom can love me again.”
Travis and Taylor first sparked dating rumors in July when the NFL star said he tried to give the singer his phone number, though unsuccessfully.
However, it was reported that the two maintained contact after their initial meeting, and they now seem to be going strong. Taylor has been seen attending many of his football games and traveling cross-country to meet him during breaks from her Eras tour.
However, people in the couple’s life are apparently worried over their new romance. Travis’ family, for example, is fearing for his safety given the newfound attention his relationship with Taylor has brought.
Travis And Taylor’s Loved Ones Are Worried About Them
Travis even purchased a new $6 million mansion last month with enhanced security features to offer him more privacy and protection.
“It’s certainly been weird, the level that it is now,” Travis’ brother Jason Kelce told NBC Sports last month. “On one hand, I’m happy for my brother that he seems to be in a relationship that he’s excited about, that he is genuine about. But there’s another end of it where it’s like, ‘Man, this is a lot.’”
“So, on one hand, really, really happy for my brother and where he’s at in his current situation with Taylor,” he continued. “But on the other hand, there’s some alarms sometimes with how over-in-pursuit people can be.”
“Overall, he can deal with some of this,” Jason added. “As long as it’s not becoming a threat to his safety and things like that.”
But some people are worried for Taylor’s well-being, including two of Travis’ ex-girlfriends, who’ve both made telling public comments recently.
His ex-girlfriend Maya Benberry specifically warned Taylor to be careful about his intentions. “I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her – and who is just using her,” she told Daily Mail. “I can only hope that she comes out the teacher in this situation and not the student.”
For now, Taylor and Travis haven’t commented on the controversy surrounding their relationship.
