Kelce is worth $30 million. This figure is only expected to rise over the years as a result of how his current contract is structured, which is worth a cool $57.25 million. While only some of this money is guaranteed, if Kelce remains healthy, that means that he will earn over $14 million per year through 2026.

Kelce is known for having some cheating scandals to his name, thanks to allegations put forth by his ex, Kayla Nicole, but what is not as well known is that he has had some financial issues come his way over the past several years as well.
As a result of these issues in the form of liens, Kelce reportedly owed $200,000 in back taxes. While some of these liens have been paid, others remain active, which begs the question of why a man who makes millions yearly has left the liens unpaid.
The first lien that Kelce was hit with was in 2016 for his home in Ohio. The amount was over $46,000. Though Franklin County states that the lien is still active, sources have apparently been able to confirm that it is indeed “paid off.”
The state of Ohio came calling again in 2018. This time, the lien from Franklin County was for over $64,000. To date, it has yet to be paid.
As if one state filing liens was not enough, Kelce also faced liens from the state of California. They were filed in 2017 and 2018, with the former being a federal tax for the amount of $$111,123. The latter, being a state lien, was for over $77,000. They have been “released.”
Yet again, Ohio placed a lien on Kelce in 2018, this time from Cuyahoga County. While just a small amount of slightly over $900, it has yet to be paid.
Clearly, paying off these liens would not affect Kelce’s bottom line. In fact, he likely would not even miss the money that is owed. It could be that Kelce no longer owes the properties that the liens are against and that is why he is not paying.
Perhaps he is following the advice of a tax advisor and that is why some liens have been paid while others have not.
Regardless of the reason, however, it is boggling why a person who is worth so much money would let liens remain outstanding when, at least from outward appearances, could easily be paid off when money is coming in from the NFL and other sources as well.
Like many successful sports stars, Kelce makes a good deal of money from outside sources. While that amount has not been released, with the number of endorsements Kelce has, it surely is not a number to sneeze at.
Since proving that he is a force to be reckoned with on the football field, Kelce has been lucky enough to sign multiple endorsement deals. Some of the companies Kelce has worked with include McDonald’s, Papa John’s, Helzberg Diamonds, Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and more.
While some of the endorsement deals are for a one-time campaign, others are longer standing. The longer the deal with the company, the more money is to be made.
Further still, Kelce appeared on Saturday Night Live. While the amount he was paid to appear on the show after winning the Super Bowl was not revealed, it was likely sizable. As such, even when Kelce is not suiting up to make touchdowns, he is making money in the off-season.
Given Kelce’s net worth and his ability to continue to make money, it is boggling that liens still linger over his head. While the figures would not affect his bottom line, there is a reason why they remain unpaid years after they were filed. Just what that reason is, however, is anyone’s guess.
