The Kill Bill movies are known for being tense and action-packed, and on set, things got tense between co-stars, Uma Thurman and Daryl Hannah.

It’s been reported by multiple outlets that the two stars did not like each other very much. The pair allegedly had tension on set, which worked in a way, since their characters were bitter enemies.

Little is known about what sparked their feud, but it’s alleged that things were unpleasant between them while filming.

Sadly, Thurman also had a tough go of it with the film’s director, Quentin Tarantino.

“The relationship between director Quentin Tarantino and star Uma Thurman quickly deteriorated as the production of “Kill Bill” was dragged out into two separate movies, which included dangerous stunts that reportedly left Thurman hospitalized,” WatchMojo reports.

The filmmaker gave an interview about their falling out, and the accident in question.

“Just horrible. Watching her fight for the wheel…remembering me hammering about how it was safe and she could do it. Emphasizing that it was a straight road, a straight road…the fact that she believed me, and I literally watched this little S curve pop up. And it spins her like a top. It was heartbreaking. Beyond one of the biggest regrets of my career, it is one of the biggest regrets of my life. For a myriad of reasons,” he said.

Beyond filming, Thurman remained at odds with Hannah and Tarantino.

“They reportedly asked hotel staff to keep them apart during the press tour for the first film. When they won the Best Fight award at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, only Hannah turned up to collect it. Thurman had appeared to accept the same award one year prior when she won it for her fight with Chiaki Kuriyama in Volume 1.”

“If anything, Thurman and Hannah’s indifference to each other on the set just fueled the on-screen hatred between their characters, the Bride and Elle Driver,” ScreenRant reports.

In an interview, Hannah was asked about the over-the-top fight her character had with Thurman. The actress had a blunt response when asked about whether she and Thurman found filming funny.

“Uma’s not a giggler,” she replied.

The Independent then noted that Hannah is, in fact, quite the opposite.

Little is known about where the two stand today, and even more questions have surrounded the potential of a third Kill Bill film.

For years now, a third installment has been teased and rumored.

Just last year, Thurman spoke about the potential of another movie.

“I can’t really tell you anything about it. I mean it has been discussed over the years. There was real thought about it happening, but very long ago. I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon,” she said.

Earlier in 2023, Quentin Tarantino had something to say about the potential trilogy film.

“I don’t see that,” Tarantino said, per Deadline.

This was a major blow for fans, as previously, Tarantino seemed to express interest in another Kill Bill film.

“I think it’s just revisiting the characters 20 years later and just imagining the Bride and her daughter, B.B., having 20 years of peace, and then that peace is shattered,” the filmmaker said. “And now the Bride and B.B. are on the run and just the idea of being able to cast Uma and cast her daughter Maya in the thing would be f****** exciting,” he once said.
