Universal Studios revealed the first trailer for the much-anticipated film version of the Broadway musical ‘Wicked’ during the Super Bowl.
The movie, which will be released in two parts, delves into the origins of the witches of Oz. The plot revolves around Elphaba, played by Cynthia Erivo, who is destined to become the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, portrayed by Ariana Grande, the future Good Witch of the North.
The trailer gave viewers a sneak peek at the cast and featured a snippet of Erivo performing ‘Defying Gravity’, a standout song from the musical.
