Jonathan Scott presented Zooey Deschanel with a ring as special as their romance when he got down on one knee over the weekend.
The “Property Brothers” star and “New Girl” alum, who started dating in 2019, announced their engagement on Instagram Monday alongside a smiling selfie.
In the snap, the twosome looked every bit in love as they posed in front of an old castle, with Deschanel proudly flashing her “unique” engagement ring to the camera.
The “personalized” ring features three large stones of varying colors in a flower pattern with smaller pink stones attached to the outer corners.
According to the CEO of The Diamond Pro, Mike Fried, the stunning sparkler is worth at least $250,000 depending on “the quality of the diamonds and the type of purple gemstone.”
“Zooey’s engagement ring is a true testament to who she is: unique, genuine, and beautiful,” he tells Page Six Style.
Fried says that the purple center stone could be a diamond, sapphire or alexandrite while the two stones on the sides seem to be diamonds — each around 3 carats.
“I imagine Jonathon Scott worked closely with a ring designer for weeks to create such a personalized ring,” he adds.
Mason Rotsart, gemologist at Rare Carat, agrees that the HGTV star must have put a significant amount of planning into the personalized piece — but believes the carat size and exact gemstone may be slightly different.
“The ring appears to feature a 3.5-carat royal purple garnet, which is Deschanel’s birthstone,” he explains to us. “It’s accompanied by a 1.5-carat star-shaped diamond with a pink accent stone to the right, and to the left, a smaller oval-shaped diamond.”
Scott, 45, popped the question on Sunday during a family vacation in Scotland, according to People.
Deschanel’s daughter Elsie, 8, and son Charlie, 6 — whom the 43-year-old shares with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik — reportedly helped their soon-to-be step-dad execute the plan.

The pair started dating during the summer of 2019 after meeting while filming an episode of James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” — just after the “Elf” actress’s split from Pechenik.
Despite dating for less than a year, the pair quarantined together during the Covid-19 pandemic and purchased their “dream home” — a fixer-upper, obviously — in 2020 for $9.5 million.
Renovations on the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom Georgian revival took two years but the couple were able to finally move in right before Thanksgiving in 2022.
This will be Deschanel’s third marriage as she was briefly married to Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard before she wed Pechenik in 2015.
Scott was also married once before to flight coordinator Kelsy Ully.
