Andy Cohen has weighed in on the drama surrounding Mauricio Umansky and the Hiltons following Paris Hilton’s scathing remarks about revelations on his Netflix show.
The Bravo bigwig defended Umansky, sharing on his SiriusXM show, “Radio Andy,” that it was “his story to tell.”
“I’m seeing online a lot of people saying that I or Bravo should be pissed about Mauricio revealing stuff on Netflix on his show,” Cohen said.
“People think, ‘Oh, Bravo should be furious. Why is he saying this on his show?’ Well, it’s his show on Netflix!”
In the upcoming “Buying Beverly Hills” episode, Umansky, 53, brings up his fallout with the Hilton family that occurred after he left their Hilton & Hyland real estate agency in Los Angeles more than a decade ago.
The bombshell prompted Paris to speak out in defense of her dad on social media.
In the clip from the Netflix show, Umansky, who is currently separated from wife Kyle Richards, remembered that he thought he deserved to be made partner because he contributed so much to the agency, but when he asked Rick for equity in the company, Rick turned him down.
Umansky quit and started The Agency, which he founded in 2011. It has since become a major real estate firm and is featured on his Netflix series.
After hearing Umansky’s version of events, Paris rushed to the comments section of Queens of Bravo’s Instagram account.
“My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family-especially in the press,” she wrote.
Cohen, 55, also revealed that fans will soon hear both sides of the story, including Kathy Hilton’s recollection during the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion this week.
“We get Kathy and Kyle’s side of the story tonight on the Beverly Hills reunion,” he shared.
He continued, “There are a lot of people who are saying, I’m seeing online a lot of people saying that I or Bravo should be pissed about Mauricio revealing stuff on Netflix on his show, but I would say a lot of what he’s revealing is his story to tell and a lot and what Kyle is revealing on Beverly Hills is her side of the story.”
“I think that in the case of this Hilton and Highland stuff, I can’t speak for Kyle on any level, but my gut is that there was probably so far she wanted to go on her show because she didn’t want to further complicate an already complicated relationship with her sister,” he added.
