Ashanti and Nelly are keeping the romance rumors going strong after getting cozy on social media.
The former flames, who dated on and off in the 2000s, pressed their heads together as they sang Usher’s “Nice & Slow” in a video posted to the rapper’s Instagram Story Monday.
“We on my bro shyt,” Nelly, 48, captioned the clip of the two smiling and belting out the tune.
“See I’ve been waiting for this for so long,” they sang happily. “I just want to take it nice and slow.”
The pair first sparked reconciliation rumors in December 2022 with a steamy performance of their 2008 collaboration, “Body on Me.”
Later that month, Ashanti, 42, addressed the speculation during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.”
“My reaction was, ‘Wow.’ It was a lot of comments and a lot of people wanting that [us back together],” she said.
“What I will say is, we’re in a better place. You know, ’cause before it was like [mimics fighting]. But we’re cool now. Yeah, we have some conversations, you know. So it’s cool.”

While the “Only U” singer dodged Cohen’s question about rekindling her romance with Nelly, her actions spoke louder than words when the two were spotted holding hands in April after a boxing match in Las Vegas.
A month later, they fueled romance speculation again while partying it up together at New York City nightclub Marquee.
“They were smiling at each other nonstop,” an insider exclusively told Page Six at the time. “They were super cute.”
The eyewitness said that Ashanti was “enjoying herself” and got “really hyped” when her rumored beau performed several of his hits, including “Hot in Herre” and “Flap Your Wings.”
“They were keeping it very cute and not heavy into the PDA,” the source added.
Despite the multiple sightings, neither artist has publicly addressed the rumors.
Ashanti and Nelly’s early 2000s romance was also kept quite private before the two called it quits in 2013.
Nelly was later romantically linked to Shantel Jackson in 2015, though they ended their relationship in 2021.
