Awaiting Queen Kate! Exclusive MailOnline survey finds 70 per cent of people think Princess of Wales will make perfect consort to King William

A MailOnline survey has found that around 70 per cent of people are happy that Kate Middleton will one day be Queen Consort to King William.

The Deltapoll survey found that the majority of those questioned think that both the Prince and Princess of Wales should stay firmly in the line of succession, with three-quarters of people asked believing Prince William should take to the throne when his father dies.

Some of the other royal family members fared less well in public opinion though.

Around 77 per cent of those questioned said they would remove Prince Andrew, who was removed from royal duties in January 2022, with the late Queen’s approval, following the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Some 61 per cent of those questioned suggested the Duke of Sussex should also be removed from the line of succession, while 57 per cent thought Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Prince Andrew’s daughters, should also be taken from the list.

On behalf of MailOnline, Deltapoll interviewed 2,009 British adults online between 1st to 4th September 2023.

Kate Middeton, who married Prince William in 2011, has since dedicated her working life to the royal family, carrying out public engagements and championing causes close to her heart including mental health and family-focused charities.

Since entering the royal spotlight in the early noughties, Kate has become one of the world’s most photographed women, transforming from the girl next door, running around St Andrews University and partying with Prince William, to an elegant future Queen.
