Tumi Mhlongo addressed how her co-stars were “dropping like flies,” and she says she felt “punked” by their doctors’ visits. The chief stew also hinted at a DM from Kathy Hilton – who Tumi referenced in the latest episode.
On the current season of Below Deck Mediterranean, one castmate was fired, another quit, Kyle Viljoen and Haleigh Gorman were incapacitated after getting sick, and Captain Sandy Yawn fractured her wrist.
“People were dropping like flies this season,” wrote Tumi in a December 18 tweet. “It was crazy!!”

That same night, a fan called out the shocking number of doctors’ visits.
“ANOTHER trip to a doctor??? What is going on,” asked fan account @jaxbra.
“That was my question exactly!” Tumi answered back. “I felt punked.”
In the comments, another fan asked if visiting the doctor was “code” for being “extremely hungover.”
Tumi responded with a zipped mouth emoji – suggesting the fan might be right.

Tumi also claimed she got a DM from Kathy Hilton – though she kept its content a mystery.
“The BEST Christmas gift is Kathy Hilton in my DMs,” tweeted Tumi, who formerly alluded to Kathy’s preference for eating caviar with potatoes. “Year made 🤩.”
