‘Big Bang Theory’ star Kate Micucci reveals lung cancer diagnosis

“Big Bang Theory” star Kate Micucci has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

The actress, 43, took to TikTok from her hospital bed over the weekend, posting what she called a “Sick Tok” to inform her fans of the news.

She also revealed that after doctors “caught it really early” she was able to undergo surgery last week to remove the cancer.

“It’s really weird, because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise,” Micucci explained, noting that the doctors “got it out” and that she’s “all good” now.

“It’s been a little bit of a trip and [I’ll] probably be moving slow for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it.”

“So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. He scanned my heart and that’s where the spot in my lung was noticed.”

Micucci was also showered with wishes of good health from fans, including internet-favorite dog Doug the Pug, who sent her “love and healing.”

The American Cancer Society also cheered her on, writing, “You got this! We are here for you during your journey.”

According to the American Cancer Society, about 20 percent of people who die from lung cancer in the United States every year have never smoked or used any form of tobacco.

The cancer advocacy organization also notes that lung cancer in people who have never smoked is one of the most fatal cancers in the US.

In addition to “The Big Bang Theory,” Micucci is known for her voice work in “DuckTales,” “Steven Universe” and as Velma Dinkley in several “Scooby-Doo!” projects.
