Bowen Yang ‘almost died’ riding a horse while filming in Iceland

Bowen Yang’s life flashed before his eyes while he was horseback riding in Iceland.

The “Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens” actor revealed in a recent episode of his podcast with Matt Rogers, “Las Culturistas,” that he was nearly killed atop a horse while filming a scene for Season 3 of the Comedy Central sitcom.

“[I’ve] ridden a horse for camera,” Yang, 32, told his co-host.

“Guess what? This crew — and I love this crew — but this crew decided to have a drone and, of course, the horse don’t know what the f–k that is, and then I almost died.”

“Even hundreds of yards away, these horses can clock,” he explained. “They were spooked and then I almost [fell off]. I almost got bucked.”

The “Saturday Night Live” writer-turned-star admitted that although he was scared, “part” of him thought, “This is a good way to go.”

He managed to survive the near-death experience, but embarrassment soon got the best of him.

The funnyman explained that during another part of the Scandinavian trip, he unknowingly walked around the set with “[his] own used toilet paper stuck to [his] shoe.”

“Everybody on set saw,” he lamented.

Although Bowen recovered from both incidents, he announced last month that he had been dealing with mental health issues lately.

The comic suffers from bad bouts of depersonalization, which caused him to temporarily step away from his podcast.

“Taking a very short break from [‘Las Culturistas’]. Bad bouts of depersonalization are f–king me up bad, but I am doing my best to get better!” he wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “Please take care, be soon.”

Two weeks later, Rogers, 33, gave fans a positive update on Yang.

“What I really want everyone to know is that already things are better,” the “I Love That for You” star told Melissa Gorga during an appearance on her “On Display” podcast.

“Already, there’s more perspective, and there’s going to be steps taken to get him to a healthier place because he knows he deserves that.”

Rogers added, “No one should be living every day feeling anything less than good about themselves, baseline.”
