The heart of Miley Cyrus’ family is looking pretty achy-breaky.
A bombshell report by Us Weekly alleges that the clan’s 56-year-old matriarch, Tish Cyrus, “stole” her new husband away from her youngest daughter, actress-singer Noah, 24.
It’s just the latest claim of fractures within what was once one of Nashville’s sturdiest and most admired showbiz dynasties.
The cracks began to show almost as soon as Tish and country star Billy Ray Cyrus, 62, officially split in 2022 after three decades of marriage. Both remarried last year: her to “Prison Break” actor Dominic Purcell, 54, and him to 34-year-old Australian singer Firerose, née Johanna Hodges.
Neither Noah nor her brother Braison, 29, attended Tish’s wedding to Purcell at Miley’s Malibu estate. At the time, there were rumors of bad blood between all parties — with Miley, 30, and her sister Brandi, 36, sticking by Tish, and Noah and Braison allied with their father.
Now US Weekly claims there may have been a jaw-dropping reason why Noah was a no-show at her mom’s wedding.
“Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started pursuing him,” a source told the outlet, adding that Tish “was aware” of the situation.
The source even claimed that Miley stationed security guards at her home on her mother’s wedding day in case Noah tried to crash the event.
An insider told Page Six that the story about Noah, Tish and Dominic started making its way around Hollywood earlier this month.
A source who has worked closely with Tish for more than five years called the claims about Purcell and Noah “dumb gossip.”
“Tish is both an amazing mom and an incredible person,” the source told Page Six. “I hope I can be as good a mom as she is. I feel bad for her that people are gossiping about her.”
Page Six has reached out to Tish, Noah and Purcell for comment.
Publicly, Tish has been very chatty about Purcell — frequently gushing about their whirlwind courtship and marriage on social media and podcasts.
“So we go to lunch and make out for three hours,” Tish told the “Call Her Daddy” podcast earlier this month of her first date with Purcell. She added that they said “I love you” a day later.
“Getting to love and be loved by you is beyond anything I could ever imagine,” Tish wrote in a February 17 Instagram post in honor of Purcell’s birthday.
Miley, Noah and Braison are from Tish and Billy Ray’s union, while Brandi and her brother Trace, 35, are Tish’s children from a previous relationship and adopted by Billy Ray. The country singer also has a son, Christopher Cody Cyrus, 30, from a previous relationship.
Until recently, most of the Cyrus drama came from Miley and Noah. Miley weathered a number of scandals as she made the tricky transition from child star to serious singer — most notably her controversial twerking with Robin Thicke at the 2013 VMAs.
Noah, for her part, has spoken about feeling “stripped of my identity” while growing up in Miley’s shadow and said she sometimes felt suicidal as an 10 and 11-year-old being criticized online for her looks. She also developed a Xanax addiction a few years ago but is now reportedly in recovery.
Noah — who announced her engagement to fashion designer Pinkus in July 2023 — hit out at Miley in 2020, calling her “disrespectful” after Miley appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast and referred to Noah as a sad “emo kid.”
But now their parents are joining the fray. Miley notably snubbed her father when she took the stage February 10 to accept the Record of the Year Grammy for “Flowers,” thanking Tish and her sister Brandi, who had accompanied her to the event, but not Billy Ray and her other siblings.
“I don’t think I forgot anyone — but I might have forgotten underwear,” Miley said.
Afterward, Us Weekly quoted a source saying Billy had been trying to reach out to his famous daughter to mend their once-close relationship.
“Miley and Billy Ray are on the outs,” the source told the outlet. “Miley’s very close with her mom and is standing by her.”
Tish has given a detailed and complicated timeline about her relationship with Purcell, saying she had crushed on him for years as he played Lincoln Burrows on “Prison Break.” She began following him on Instagram in 2016 and told “Call Her Daddy” how he slid into her DMs to tell her she was “super cool.”
She also said she didn’t see the message until years later, claiming that Purcell’s ex had blocked her from his account.
In 2022, a few months after filing for divorce from Billy Ray, TIsh said, she noticed she’d been unblocked.
She then DM’ed Purcell herself, she said, and invited him to lunch to discuss a potential idea for her production company, Hopetown Entertainment.
Billy Ray also has an unusual relationship timeline with his new wife, Firerose, who he married last October after meeting while he and Miley starred on the Disney sitcom “Hannah Montana” more than a decade ago.
The country singer was taking a break outside the set with his dog when he spotted Firerose and offered to take her inside and show her around the set,
“I was walking out of an audition,” Firerose told Kelly Clarkson on her talk show last year.
Tish has also recently opened up about what she called her “complete psychological breakdown” during 2020’s pandemic lockdown when Billy Ray moved back to Tennessee, she stayed in Los Angeles, and her mother died.
“I had, like, one month of a — honestly — complete psychological breakdown. It was the worst thing. Honestly … it was not good,” Tish told “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper. “I could not eat. I could not sleep. I could not stop crying. I literally weighed, like, 103 pounds … I don’t have my mom and then I don’t have my husband [who’s] been my husband for 30 years.”
She also intimated there had been “disrespect in every form” during her marriage to Billy Ray.
“Disrespect just lays it out in so many ways. I [didn’t] even know — until I had a new relationship [where] there was so much respect — how much disrespect there was in my marriage before,” Tish continued. “Honestly, on both our parts.”
Billy Ray first filed for divorce in 2010, then withdrew his petition; Tish did the same in 2013.
He has said it was probably a mistake for a country family with Kentucky and Tennessee roots to move to LA in 2005 so that Miley, then almost 13, and Billy Ray could co-star in “Hannah Montana.”
“It destroyed my family,” he told GQ in 2011. “I’ll tell you right now—the damn show destroyed my family. And I sit there and go, ‘Yeah, you know what? Some gave all.’ It is my motto, and guess what? I have to eat that one. I some-gave-all’d it all right. I some-gave-all’d it while everybody else was going to the bank. It’s all sad.”
