Britney Spears aborted her and Justin Timberlake’s baby at home without telling her family that she had been pregnant.
The “Stronger” singer shares in her forthcoming memoir that she and the *NSYNC member agreed not to go to a doctor or hospital in order to keep their secret from going public.
“It was important that no one find out about the pregnancy or the abortion, which meant doing everything at home,” she writes in “The Woman in Me” (via the Associated Press).
Spears, who was about 19 at the time, describes the physical pain of the medication abortion as “excruciating.”
Terminating a pregnancy using pills causes “cramping and bleeding to empty your uterus,” according to Planned Parenthood, which compares the process to an early miscarriage.
“I kept crying and sobbing until it was all over,” the Grammy winner recalls in her book, which hits stores on Oct. 24.
“It took hours, and I don’t remember how it ended, but I do, twenty years later, remember the pain of it, and the fear.”
News broke Tuesday that Spears, now 41, had undergone an abortion in 2000 at the height of her and Timberlake’s fame as pop stars and teen idols.
The “Crossroads” star wrote in a previously released excerpt that the “Bye Bye Bye” singer, who was also 19 at the time, “definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy” and thought they were “too young” to become parents.
“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision,” she admitted. “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
Timberlake’s rep has not responded to Page Six’s multiple requests for comment.

However, sources told us exclusively just one day before the bombshell dropped that the boy bander, 42, had been “concerned” about what Spears was going to divulge from their three-year relationship.
“He’s very curious,” one insider shared. “It’s eating at him.”
Elsewhere in her tell-all, the “Toxic” singer claims Timberlake repeatedly cheated on her, though she confesses to kissing their mutual choreographer Wade Robson before the couple’s 2002 breakup.
Years later, Spears welcomed two sons, Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17, with her second husband, Kevin Federline.
The “Trolls” voice actor, meanwhile, has two boys as well, Silas, 8, and Phineas, 3, with his wife, Jessica Biel.
