Britney Spears speaks out after cops perform wellness check over concerning knives video

Britney Spears has told fans that they have nothing to worry about after police conducted a wellness check over her recent knife-wielding videos, claiming the weapons were fake.

The “Toxic” hitmaker, 41, sparked concerns earlier this week after posting a series of worrisome videos on social media in which she provocatively dances with knives in each of her hands.

“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA,” she wrote on Instagram Thursday night alongside another knife-wielding dancing video.

“These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!!” she added, referencing Shakira’s MTV VMAs performance earlier this month.

“Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼!” she concluded.

Page Six confirmed that cops performed a wellness check on the mom of two after receiving a tip from someone close to the singer.

Captain Dean Worthy of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told us that one of their sergeants — who has dealt with numerous incidents involving the Princess of Pop over the years — responded to the call.

“Somebody close to Britney had seen the video posted on social media, where she’s dancing and twirling with knives in her hands, and they were really concerned for her mental well-being,” the public information officer says.

Worthy says police confirmed that the individual, who asked to remain anonymous, had a relationship with Spears and was not just a “fan.”

When officers arrived at the singer’s Thousand Oaks, Calif. home, they spoke to the pop star’s security team via the intercom.

After they were told that Spears was “fine” and “nothing was going on,” officers left the premises.

“They didn’t want to let the officer in to see her physically,” Worthy added.

Spears told concerned fans to “lighten up” about her videos this week after she posted a video dancing with the butcher knives, followed by additional footage with a bandage on her arm.
