Brittany Mahomes has a supporter in fellow WAG Kelly Stafford.
After Mahomes made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut as a rookie on Thursday, the wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford posted a defense of athletes’ wives who have “used the platform” they were “handed.”
“These are just a few of the many women who I look up to… the ones that have used their position in this life to build businesses, give back and overall do good in this world,” she captioned an Instagram carousel that featured Mahomes as the first slide and included football fashion designer Kristin Juszczyk and Ayesha Curry.
Kelly urged her fellow WAGs not to be “ashamed” of how they received their platform but instead “be grateful and use it.”
“Use it to support your family, use it to give back, use it to create positive change, use it for good,” she wrote.
“Even if you misstep along the way, stay true to yourself and your values and you will do more good than bad.”
She concluded her message by asking her followers to “keep lifting one another up” up; however, the comments section felt that Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, should not have been included.

“Brittany Mahomes 😳 Really!!” commented a critic. “Shocked.”
“Come on you look up to brittany mahomes?” asked another, which prompted a response from a person who quickly defended Brittany for creating “a safe space for women to play soccer.”
She “uses her platform to promote life saving medicine for kids with allergies also her and pat donate to multiple charities, also has their own charities for sick kids,” the defender added.

Brittany, 28, also clapped back at haters after they criticized her for landing the magazine photoshoot.
“I’m here to tell you. People will dislike you. People will love you,” the mom of two posted on her Instagram Story Thursday alongside a sneak peek of her sizzling shoot for magazine’s upcoming 60th anniversary issue.
“Don’t let any of that define you. KEEP SHINING and being YOU.”
Brittany’s SI Swimsuit debut in Chiefs colors comes just days before her husband and the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl 2024.
It’s unclear whether she will sit with her family or with her new best friend, Taylor Swift, who will attend the game to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
