She’s got him, babe.
Cher gushed over boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards’ “beautiful” appearance in a new interview with People published on Wednesday.
“Alexander’s got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he’s way younger. He’s a beautiful man,” the iconic singer, 77, said while explaining why she’s “not surprised” that her relationship with the much-younger music producer, 37, has gotten so much attention.
“Also, I think it’s fun to be interested in somebody else’s love life!” she added.
The “Believe” singer further said she quickly fell in love with Edwards after meeting “for about 15 minutes” at a Paris Fashion Week event in the fall of 2022.
Cher explained that a mutual friend had given him her number, which was “really shocking, because people just don’t give out my number,” she said.
“I had been telling all my friends, ‘We’re too old to go out with really younger men, and I will never fall in love on text.’ So I did what I said not to do!”
Cher further explained that she broke her rules for Edwards “because he’s just so special.” Plus, his style isn’t shabby.
“I hate when people say people are special, but lots of people say I’m special, so I can say that he’s special,” she said.
“No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it’s never too late. If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, ‘Well, this is doomed.’ But we’ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time,” she continued.
Despite their 40-year age gap, Cher is focusing on the joy Edwards brings to her life.
“If you have happiness, you can’t think about how long it’s going to last,” she said. “You have to think about ‘How does it feel?’ and live in the moment.”
Cher and Edwards, who are collaborating on her first-ever holiday album, “Christmas,” rekindled their romance in September after reportedly splitting in May.
Following their reconciliation, a source told Page Six Cher “just wants to be happy” at this point in her life — and the on-again couple recent returned to Paris Fashion Week for a fitting reunion that included plenty of front row fashion switch-ups from the style icons.
