Christie Brinkley isn’t fazed by wrinkles ahead of 70th birthday after trolls attacked her appearance: I’m ‘just letting it be’

Christie Brinkley is aging naturally and proud of it.

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model said although she’s tried Botox twice, she’s happier letting herself age gracefully and “just letting it be,” she told People in an interview published Wednesday.

“I want to accept certain wrinkles. That’s the way I’m approaching aging,” she further explained.

“Sometimes when people get older, and they overdo it, they can look waxy and — I don’t know what the word is — preserved or something. I want a little life to show on my face, you know?”

She did say, however, that she still receives bi-annual resurfacing Fraxel treatments to help with sun damage she’s sustained over the years.

Brinkley, whose comments about aging come about two weeks before her 70th birthday, previously hit back against people shaming her for her wrinkles by altering a caption of an Instagram post from June 2023.

The post included a selfie and photos of One World Trade Center in New York City and was captioned, “Downtown Girl.”

The fiery updated caption reads, “Whoa Nelly ! The Wrinkle Brigade is out in full force in the comment thread!”

Brinkley’s comments come months after she hit back at haters for criticizing her wrinkles in response to a June 2023 Instagram selfie she posted.
In an update to her selfie’s caption, she labeled the trolls the “Wrinkle Brigade” and thanked anyone being kind to her for showing off her natural skin. christiebrinkley/Instagram

“They are the people that scan celebrities pages, hoping to find some cellulite , wrinkles , or anything that they can point to to to critique,” she explained about the “Wrinkle Brigade.”

“It must be somd (sic) form of compensation for some thing they are lacking,” she hypothesized.

Brinkley then turned her focus to those complimenting her selfie, calling the praise “so kind and valuable.”

“Those are the comments that restore my faith and make my heart sing! Thank you sweet souls,” she gushed.

The model, who is getting ready to launch her new lifestyle and apparel brand TWRHLL, proved earlier this month that age is just a number by showing off her long legs as she splashed around in the clear water of Turks and Caicos.

In the fun photo she shared, she rocked a white swimsuit and lounged in the shallow water while lifting her legs in the air as she beamed at the camera.

She shared similarly effortless snaps during a trip to the picturesque vacation spot in 2022. That time, she looked incredible in a blue bikini and posed on a cabana decorated with driftwood.
