Christina Applegate felt the love at the Emmys.
The “Dead to Me” alum, 52, became emotional as she received a standing ovation from the audience at the Emmys 2024 amid her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Applegate, who made a surprise appearance at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles Monday, walked on stage using a cane and with assistance from host Anthony Anderson.
She stunned in a plunging Christian Siriano burgundy velvet gown.
While the moment brought the actress to tears, she quickly lightened the mood with a few jokes as she took the mic to introduce Carrol Burnett.
“Thank you so much. Oh my God. You’re totally shaming me with the disability by standing up. Body not by ozempic,” she quipped, poking fun at the Type 2 diabetes drug that has taken over Hollywood as a weight loss supplement.
“Some of you may know me as Kelly Bundy from ‘Married With Children’ … we don’t have to applaud every time I do something,” she continued.
Tears continued to roll down Applegate’s face as she told the crowd that she was “gonna cry more than I’ve been crying.”
“It’s been an honor to play funny, flawed, complex characters like the women nominated for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series,” she added.

Last year, Applegate said the 2023 SAG Awards would likely be her “last award show as an actor” due to her ongoing illness, which is a disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord, according to Mayo Clinic.
“It’s my last awards show as an actor probably, so it’s kind of a big deal,” she told the LA Times last February.
“Right now, I couldn’t imagine getting up at 5 a.m. and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set; I don’t have that in me at this moment.”
Applegate was diagnosed with MS in early 2021 and has been candid about how the illness has affected her career as an actress.
The mom of one previously admitted that she was “a wreck every day” while filming three seasons of “Dead to Me” from 2019 to 2022.
“There were times I’d break down on set and be like, ‘I can’t, we have to take a break, I need a half-hour,’ and everyone was so loving that it was OK,” she added.
Applegate said the “incredible” the cast and crew accommodated her needs on set.
