Chynna Phillips reveals her dad ‘blindsided’ her with information the night before she married Billy Baldwin

Chynna Phillips revealed her late father, musician John Phillips, “blindsided” her with information just hours before she was set to marry Billy Baldwin.

“We talked about stuff that was pretty earth-shattering and a lot had come to the surface and my father was having a ton of feelings,” she shared on her YouTube channel, “California Preachin’,” last week.

“Of course, that made me have a ton of feelings and I remember I was up all night just weeping, and numb as well.”

The YouTube star felt that the late musician must have wanted to “come clean” before walking her down the aisle.

Taking place the night before her wedding, the conversation caused Chynna to vacillate between weeping and becoming “stoic.”

“…it was because my father had just revealed some really big information to me and I just felt blindsided by it,” she explained.

Chynna, 56, never specified what exactly she and the late Mamas & The Papas singer talked about, but she said he must have felt the need to “come clean” before walking her down the aisle.

She and the “Backdraft” star wed the following morning and went on to become parents to daughters Jameson, 23, and Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22. Last month, Chynna revealed she and Baldwin, 60, quietly separated for six months.

The Wilson Phillips band member previously admitted that she missed her childhood because her father, who died in 2001 from heart failure at 65, “was high.”

She also publicly supported her half-sister, Mackenize Phillips, after she revealed in her memoir, “High on Arrival,” that she and John had a decade-long incestuous relationship.

“When I stood by you, I meant it with all my heart, you know? I really did. And I believed you,” Chynna told Mackenzie, 64, on her YouTube show in the fall.

“And I want you to know that I was proud of you for coming out [with your story] … even though it was painful for everybody.”
