Dave Chappelle celebrates 50th birthday at star-studded bash

Dave Chappelle celebrated his birthday with some A-List special guests at his sold-out Madison Square Garden show on Wednesday night.

But we hear that the real party went down the following evening.

We’re told the comedy superstar shut down down the legendary Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village to do a private show-turned-party for his friends and family.

Guests included Angela Bassett, newlyweds Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola, Chance the Rapper, T.I., Tasha Smith, Jaleel White, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and actress Vanessa Ferlito, along with top comics Chris Rock, Andrew Schultz, Michelle Wolf, Aziz Ansari, Donnell Rawlings and Jeff Ross, among others.

Dave Chappelle — Chance the Rapper and T.I. were among many celebrity guests.

We’re told the party started at 11p.m. with Chappelle on the club’s stage calling out some of the people in the room who meant a lot to him, and doing jokes in between.

“It’s rare that the Cellar would ever do a private party like this, but for Chappelle, he is considered family,” said a source. (Not to mention being one of the most well-known and celebrated — if somewhat controversial — comedians on the planet).

We’re told that at around 1:30a.m. guests left to head to Noho hotspot Zero Bond to continue the shindig, dancing late into the night.

On Wednesday, the “Chappelle’s Show” star had kicked off his “It’s A Celebration, Bitch,” tour with a special birthday performance at which Ansari, Ross, Rawlings, Shane Gillis and George Wallace opened, and Travis Barker came to the stage to lead the crowd in a birthday song.
