Derek Hough’s wife, Hayley Erbert, shared some Christmas cheer after undergoing her second cranial surgery this month.
“Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! 🎄,” Erbert wrote via Instagram Monday alongside a photo of her and Hough sharing a kiss in front of a Christmas tree.
“Cherishing the greatest gift of all. The precious gift of life and the love we share,” she added. “Hold your loved ones close and treasure every moment.”
The professional dancer wore a green silk head wrap with polka-dots, along with matching green pajamas as she wrapped her arms around Hough.
Family and friends reacted to the joyful message, including Erbert’s sister-in-law Julianne Hough, who wrote, “You are our Christmas miracle 🎄❤️.”
“Love you Hayley ❤️,” wrote “Dancing With the Stars” alum Peta Murgatroyd.
Erbert’s mother, Debbie Schwartz, also commented that she was “so thankful” to be able spend the holiday with her daughter.
“You are our Christmas miracle and I love you so much,” Schwartz commented.
It appears Erbert, 29, is back home a week after she “successfully completed” a second surgery to “replace a large portion of her skull that was removed during her craniectomy.”

Hough explained in a Dec. 15 Instagram post that his wife’s second procedure was to “restore the skull to its natural shape and protect the brain from injury.”
The dancer initially underwent emergency brain surgery earlier this month.
Taking to Instagram at the time, the “Dancing With the Stars” pro-turned-judge, 38, told his followers that Erbert “became disoriented and was taken to the hospital” following a performance in Washington, D.C.
“She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy,” Hough wrote.
Per the Mayo Clinic, an intracranial hematoma is a collection of blood within the brain tissue or underneath the skull which then presses on the brain.
The condition is typically caused by a head injury, which then results in a burst blood vessel.
While the cause of the health scare hasn’t been revealed, the couple was in a “pretty scary car accident in the mountains” last December.
Posting about the accident, Erbert shared at the time that she was “a little banged up with a swollen face” and “four stitches above [her] eyebrow.”
