Despite what some of his “Vanderpump Rules” co-stars and many fans have said, Tom Sandoval does not appear to be a narcissist.
Dr. Drew Pinsky appeared on the “Everybody Loves Tom” podcast Thursday to reveal the results of the titular host’s narcissism test, which he apparently passed with flying colors.
According to Psychology Today, a narcissist “encompasses a hunger for appreciation or admiration, a desire to be the center of attention, and an expectation of special treatment reflecting perceived higher status.”
Though Pinksy did not specify which test the Bravolebrity took, Psychology Today notes that the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) is the most commonly used measure of the trait. Scores range from zero to 40, with the average individual tending to fall in the low to mid-teens.
“You’re not measurably narcissistic,” the internal and addiction medicine physician told Sandoval, 41, who admitted that he “didn’t understand” his results.
“It’s a test for narcissistic traits, really,” Pinsky, 65, explained. “It’s not a way of diagnosing a disorder, but it’s a way of showing traits. And you actually scored very low, very low.”
The former “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” host shared that Sandoval scored a seven.
“You’re actually one of the lower ones I’ve seen,” Pinksy said, “which is interesting.”
“The only thing you were slightly up on was vanity,” he added as he pointed out Sandoval’s painted fingernails, laughing as he called it a “reasonable” revelation.

“You’re probably interested in vanity, which is your appearance,” he elaborated, making sure to note that that was “neither good nor bad.”
Pinsky went on to discourage the masses from getting “pejorative and judgmental of traits,” as human beings “have traits for reasons … they’re adaptive in certain situations.”
The TV personality then asked whether Sandoval had recently sought mental health therapy and mentioned that “sometimes that will bring the score down.”
Sandoval’s co-star, business partner and best friend, Tom Schwartz — who was present for the chat — hilariously interjected, “He crammed before the test.”
Though Sandoval has starred on “Vanderpump Rules” since the reality show debuted on Bravo in 2013, he became an infamous household name after it was revealed in March that he had been cheating on his longtime girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with their co-star and close pal Raquel Leviss.
Though the illicit lovers’ lengthy affair and subsequent romance have since ended, the public scrutiny from Scandoval continues for the Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras frontman.
