This star is tickled pink to take the stage.
Drake hits the road this week for his “It’s All a Blur” tour with 21 Savage, but first, he made some time for some pre-show primping that seems to have taken inspiration from the Barbiecore trend.
The “Hotline Bling” singer shared a video on his Instagram Story this morning that showed off a fresh pink manicure — along with an adorable puppy sweatshirt — ahead of his first stop in Chicago on Wednesday.
In the clip, Drake sings Kanye West’s “Through The Wire” as he poses in the mirror, giving fans a look at his two-toned pink nails and blinged-out watch with a rainbow of differently colored diamonds around its face.
His song choice was an interesting one after he shaded West with a Kim Kardashian sample in one of his new songs, but music aside, the Canadian rapper sported a black sweatshirt with two puppies on it paired with some sparkly jeans and a diamond chain as he danced in the video.
Instagram account The Shade Room also shared a photo of Drake posing with his manicurist along with a closeup shot of his pink mani.
For the most part, commenters weren’t loving the pink look.
“I don’t like this,” one fan commented. “You can’t be tryna rap some real s—t and then go sit at the nail salon nahh.”
“He taking this Soft girl era too seriously 💅😂” another Instagram user commented, with a third adding, “He gone have on red lipstick next.”
Others defended Drake’s latest beauty endeavor, like one fan who wrote, “grown ass men in the comments have heart attacks about what another man do with his nails smh.”

Another commenter pointed out that “Y’all have no issues with kids listening to him rap about drugs, guns and strippers. No issues with female rappers wearing lingerie in public. But Drake wearing some nail color is the straw that broke the horse’s back.”
This isn’t the first time Drake has sported colorful nail polish; he rocked a bright yellow manicure with blue accent nails last month as he promoted an online casino.
With plenty of tour dates ahead over the next four months, we have a feeling there will be more colorful manis in Drake’s future.
