Eli Manning and Tom Brady ended their rap feud at the Super Bowl, we hear.
Manning recently went viral for his “mic-drop moment” trolling Brady in a rap during the Pro Bowl. But two NFL legends were seen happily chatting at Michael Rubin and Casey Wasserman’s annual Super Bowl VIP luncheon, we hear.
The former Giants star had rapped the lines last weekend: “I’m Eli Manning, I’m nice / Tom Brady is the GOAT / Psych! I beat him twice.”
Manning’s rap diss was part of a Pro Bowl bit with Supa Hot Fire, a comic that parodies rap battles.
Manning, of course, has previously beaten Brady’s New England Patriots two times in the Super Bowl, and also won MVP honors both times.
Brady has previously thrown some playful shade Manning’s way during their fun rivalry. He quipped in an interview last year, “Do I think the NFL is scripted? You think I would really have played along with a script that had me losing to Peyton’s little brother Eli twice in the Super Bowl?”
Also at Rubin and Wasserman’s Las Vegas lunch at Lavo on Friday were 49ers CEO Jed York and Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, who spies told us were friendly at the power powwow, even though their teams will face off for the NFL title on Sunday.
A source said the pair were overheard insisting to guests, “We’re friends!”
Meanwhile, CBS morning host Gayle King was asking guests their predictions for the game, since, “I have to talk about it on Monday,” we hear.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was spotted talking to California governor Gavin Newsom.
Spies said that Brady was also having a Boston brodown with Patriots owner Robert Kraft and movie star Mark Wahlberg, and Ari Emanuel was seen chatting with Rubin, UFC boss Dana White and Endeavor president Mark Shapiro.
Others at the event for 130 tippy-top VIPs included essentially every NFL owner you can name, plus Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Travis Scott, Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, artist George Condo, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Meek Mill, Viacom CEO Bob Bakish and NBCUniversal chairman Mark Lazarus.
Also spotted, we hear, were Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo, NASCAR president Steve Phelps, Lil Baby, Russell Wilson and Ciara, the Chainsmokers, WWE president Nick Khan, MLB deputy commissioner Noah Gardner, Jack Dorsey, Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, Maverick Carter, Josh Harris and 76ers part owner David Adelman, and football stars including Joe Burrow, Odell Beckham Jr. and Peyton Manning.
It was the fourth year of the lunch that has become Super Bowl weekend’s most exclusive event by bringing together the most powerful people in town for the game.
Rubin will also host the annual Fanatics party on Saturday, with performers expected including Scott, the Chainsmokers, lce Spice, A$AP Ferg, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Fabolous, Ludacris, Ne-Yo, The Kid LAROI and more.
