Could Jason Sudeikis be “cupid”?
Swifties are convinced the “Ted Lasso” star set Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce up after the latter revealed one of their mutual acquaintances encouraged her to give him a shot.
Although the Kansas City Chiefs tight end tried — and failed — to give the 12-time Grammy winner his phone number when she performed in Missouri back in July, he told WSJ. magazine in an interview published Monday that he got a little help from an unnamed pal.
“There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: ‘Yo! Did you know he was coming?’” Kelce said. “I had somebody playing Cupid.”
While, at the time, the NFL star wasn’t aware that someone was encouraging Swift to give him a shot, he got the surprise of a lifetime a few weeks later when he looked down at his phone and saw a text from the “Cruel Summer” singer.
“She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out,” he recalled.
Although he never revealed who the “cupid” was, fans believe Sudeikis — who is a Kansas City native and huge Chiefs fan — was the person behind the scenes.
During a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the 48-year-old revealed he attended one of Swift’s concerts in Kansas City at the same time as Kelce.
Not only that, but the actor was also photographed hanging out with Swift just one week later, giving him the perfect opportunity to drop some hints.
While Sudeikis didn’t admit to playing cupid for the couple, he did thank the “Anti-Hero” singer for making a stop in his hometown.
“I was thankful to Taylor, just hanging out, coming to do two nights of shows here,” he told the outlet. “All my friends, people with kids, people without kids, just had a blast. And she was like, ‘Oh, it was an amazing run.’”
Sudeikis, who jokingly called Swift Kansas City’s “adopted daughter,” added that he is in full support of the pop star’s romance with Kelce.
“I don’t blame her for wanting to hang out here more, I don’t blame her for wanting to hang out with Travis,” he said. “He’s a good egg.”
Yet the “We’re the Millers” star’s comments led many fans to believe he may have played a part in their romance.
“y’all say thank you jason sudeikis for playing cupid for taylor and travis,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“i just love how jason sudeikis ended ted lasso and chose to play cupid for taylor swift and travis kelce over the summer just because he was bored,” joked a second person.
“y’all i fear jason sudeikis really is the thread that connects it all together,” another wrote, to which a fourth replied, “jason sudeikis setting up taylor swift with travis kelce so true of him.”
“Anyone else think it’s a fascinating ‘coincidence’ #Chiefs superfan, Jason Sudeikis, happened to sit with #TaylorSwift at #Questlove’s birthday party in #NYC, then #TravisKelce happened to be spotted outside Tay’s favorite club, Zero Bond, just a few days later in mid-July?” another asked.
“Jason Sudeikis is a tayvis warrior,” wrote one more.
Meanwhile, another person pointed out more evidence that shows Sudeikis’ support of their romance.
When Swift attended her first Chiefs game in early September, the actor liked a video on Twitter of the singer standing alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna.

That same month, Kelce gave Sudeikis a shoutout during an interview with People magazine.
“Jason Sudeikis is one of my favorites,” he told the outlet. “He and his family always pop in for a game here and there.”
While the extent of Kelce and Sudeikis’ relationship is unknown, the two have seemingly hung out numerous times — including at a charity baseball game in June.
Similarly, Swift and Sudeikis have attended several of the same events over the years.
