Gigi Hadid denounces the ‘terrorizing of innocent people’ after Hamas attacks on Israel

Gigi Hadid is denouncing “the terrorizing of innocent people” following the Hamas attacks on Israel, which have since prompted the latter to declare war.

The half-Palestinian supermodel, 28, took to Instagram Tuesday to share her thoughts on the “unjustifiable tragedy” that began unfolding Saturday after the Palestinian terrorist organization launched a surprise assault by air, sea and land on Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip.

Hadid told her followers that her “thoughts,” “condolences,” “love & strength” are with “all” those who have been affected by the conflict, especially the “innocent” — “too many of which are children.”

Hadid explained that while she has “deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation” (the Palestinian territories have been militarily occupied by Israel since 1967), she also feels “a responsibility” to her Jewish friends.

She made sure to note that her “hopes and dreams for Palestinians” do not include “the harm of a Jewish person.”

“The terrorizing of innocent people is not in alignment with & does not do any good for the ‘Free Palestine’ movement,” she stated.

“The idea that it does has fueled a painful, decades-long cycle of back&forth [sic] retaliation (which no innocent civilian, Palestinian or Israeli, deserves to be a casualty of, and helps perpetuate the false idea
that being Pro-Palestine = antisemitic.”

Hadid — who disabled the comments on her post since the topic is so nuanced — acknowledged that “there are a lot of complex, personal, and valid feelings” involved.

However, she believes “every human deserves basic rights, treatment, and security; no matter their nationality, religion, ethnicity, or where they were born.”

“I know my words will never be enough or heal the deep wounds of so many,” she concluded, “but I pray for the safety of innocent lives, always.”

Both Gigi and her sister, fellow supermodel Bella Hadid, have been vocal advocates of Palestine for many years.

Amid the current and ongoing atrocities, the majority of celebrities have been posting in support of Israel.
