“Golden Bachelor” star Gerry Turner seemingly blew off claims that he allegedly broke up with his ex-girlfriend due to her weight gain.
“I don’t have time to reflect on comments like this,” Turner told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published Thursday.
“My only response is that I have so many positive things in my life right now. I have the wonderful love of Theresa, my partner,” he shared, adding that he is “happy to look forward.”
The reality star’s golden character came into question last week when the Hollywood Reporter released an exposé claiming that Turner lied about his past.
Per his ex, who goes by Carolyn to maintain her anonymity, the 72-year-old bachelor had a live-in girlfriend, whom he dated for three years, shortly after the death of his wife.
This information conflicts with the heart-wrenching story Turner shared on the dating show in which he claimed he hadn’t been kissed since his wife’s 2017 death.
However, per his interview with the New York Times, Turner said he has been in such honeymoon-phase bliss with his new fiancée that he hasn’t been able to look at the exposé.
“I guess I haven’t really looked at it as how accurate it is,” he told the outlet.
Turner added that the “timing” of the exposé “doesn’t fit” in with the “positive things” happening in his life since he’s now engaged and very much in love.
“I mean, I’m sitting across from Theresa right now, and I look at her and she’s the love of my life. And I really don’t have time to think about some of the other stuff.”

Turner further told the Times that he has only given the exposé a “cursory look” since its publication.
Reps for the “Bachelor” did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
In THR’s reporting, Carolyn also recalled a moment during their relationship in which Turner allegedly refused to attend her high school reunion because of her weight gain.
“I’m not taking you to the reunion looking like that,” Carolyn claimed Turner said to her, referring to her body.
It was then that their three-year relationship came to a halt.
In addition to Turner’s alleged weight-shaming and dishonest behavior, the restauranteur allegedly re-used endearing lines he shared with his ex-girlfriend to win over the hearts of his finalists on “The Golden Bachelor.”
Per the exposé, Turner allegedly texted Carolyn on Sept. 2, 2017 and said, “Damn, I go to bed at night thinking of you and wake up in the morning thinking of you.”
Speaking to Leslie, one of the two finalists on the show, Turner said, “I have to have you with my morning coffee, I have to have you when I go to bed at night…”
Turner announced that he and his new fiancée, Theresa Nist, will be tying the knot in a live ceremony broadcast on Jan. 4, 2024.
